YogaSmoga has been stepping up their game in two ways lately. First, last week, they rolled out new extended sizes: a lot of their core pieces will now be offered in sizes 14, 16, and 18. According to their size charts, these new sizes will be suitable for women with up to 46″ bust, 38.5″ waist, and 49″ hips.
Although plus size workout clothing is available through brands like Target, Lane Bryant, and Old Navy, there are few higher-end brands offering stylish, high-quality workout clothes women who need sizes outside of the usual range. There’s a handful of small brands that focus exclusively on plus sizes, such as Lola Getts, but currently, Zella (by Nordstrom) and Athleta are the only major brands I’m aware of that offer extended sizes in addition to the more standard size range. Now, YogaSmoga is joining the fray, too.
So far, it looks like the items available in extended sizes are basically just some core items in black/neutrals, but this isn’t too surprising to me. Although it’s not as much fun as colors, they probably want to take a more conservative approach and see how the new sizes do before sinking a lot of money into producing lots of styles and colors in a size model that hasn’t been yet proven to work. Also, since making older colors wouldn’t make much sense, maybe there will be a bit more variety sprinkled in as new colors come out.
Overall, I’m interested to see how this new size range works out for YS. I’m curious to see reviews pop up, and curious whether they will expand or scale back their extended size offerings as things move forward. Will the extended sizes succeed and make YS a pioneer for extended size offerings, or will it flop due to insufficient demand and be quietly scaled back? Only time will tell.
As for new stuff:
YogaSmoga is also rolling out new stripes and textures. I’ve been watching for these crops since seeing a few pictures with sneak peeks, and they’ve finally made their way online. To denote the difference in fabric, they named these textured crops the run jump ‘n twist crop. Some run jump n’ play crops in a black version of this fabric were released a few months ago (although I can no longer find them on the site–sold out?), and it looks like they’re taking this style of fabric a step further with more colors.
There’s also new heron grey twist in both crop length and full-length leggings. The heron twist crops come in the new extended sizes, but not the leggings and not viola.
On the stripes side of things, the up to the minute tee was added in heron grey mini stripe. There’s also an andaman green mini stripe version that was added a few weeks ago.
They posted this preview pic on social media which makes it look like quite a few more mini stripe colors and twist fabrics are coming soon, so keep your eye on their site if these pique your interest.

I thought the same thing when I read about the extended sizes: good for YS for offering larger sizes, but will they sell? I like the new stripes print.

I go back and forth on whether I think they would sell better if they offered more fun colors instead of just black. If I were a plus size lady and had limited options, you bet I would be sooo tired of black everywhere all the time.
