At crossfit, we worked up to a heavy sumo deadlift followed by a 15 minute on the minute drill which completely WASTED my core. Have you ever tried to do a 40 second hollow hold 5 times in 15 minutes? Don’t. For realz. You will die.

I took my new bluer-than-all-blueness crops out for a spin to crossfit. In love with how this outfit came together. The contrast of the white herringbone with the super-saturated cobalt? Yassssss. (P.S. Full review of these crops coming later this week!)
Today on the docket was another quick WOD, aka my favorite time domain. We did 21-15-9 of kettlebell swing and burpees. I went ALMOST unbroken, just pausing for a quick breath during the burpees here or there. My burpees have gotten hella efficient, it’s a shame my pitiful lungs can’t keep up. Not cool, lungs.

Today’s WOD was like a weird jacked up Fran-like beast. It was another 21-15-9 arrangement, but instead of thrusters you did squat snatches, instead of pull-ups you do chest-to-bar pull-ups (orrrrrr regular pull-ups, let’s be serious), and instead of 5-7 minutes it takes you like 12-15. I am a spectacularly awful snatcher, so I chose a light weight and focused on getting under the bar efficiently and smoothly, and it worked. By the set of 15, I felt much more efficient and clean. Getting a little fatigued can be an awfully effective way to force your body to find more efficient ways to lift.

Besides the formes, I guess I didn’t wear all that much actual lulu this week, except this outfit. I love bali breeze and inky floral–so freshhhhh. (Fresh like flowers, not like questionable slang.)
Crossfit today was basically Burn Out Your Muscles Fest 2014. We did 3 heavy sets of TEN push presses, then 90 seconds in a static overhead hold (narrow grip), and then tabata squats. (I was super-proud of myself because the OH hold was 65# rx’d, and I can never do rx weights because I’m so small, but I held up 53#, which is not THAT far from rx, AND I never dropped it for the whole 90 sec. BOOM.) All 3 of those things involve some serious motherloving muscle burnout. My quads are STILL crying.

Yes they definitely should! They made a heathered slate hb and white hb last year, so they maybe they’ll do a heathered black herringbone this year. ;) I’m still hoping to see some colored herringbone, that could be so pretty…

Yeah, I was a little leery of the 2 shades of green together at first, but I actually think it turned out pretty nice. :) I like the lime racerback with fatigue a lot, too!
