Upload 12/4: Vertical Parallel Stripe, Zigzag, and Dottie Gingham

December 4, 2014 / 29 Comments

Today’s upload was a tad confusing since the new product is mixed in with the old.  At first glance, it looks like it’s the same stuff, since the top line of products are unchanged.  You have to scroll a little before you notice the new stuff.  Also, it was about 15 minutes early.

Overall, there was very little that was truly new.  Most of it was lulu playing catch-up and adding things to the site that were already in stores or in the other country.  So, not a lot to report in this post.

A peek at a new print on this bang buster headband: animal swirl deep coal/black.

Canada got these new vertical parallel stripe tracker shorts.  I noted the other day that I would die if they made parallel stripe speeds, but god, if they make them vertically oriented that will have been the.biggest.waste.

LW7C52S_016510_3

Canada also got these new dottie eighth gingham speed shorts (2-way).  This new print also appeared in the pace setter skirt and tracker shorts on both sides, and the pleat to street skirt on the US side.  No temptation here.

Other upload notes:

– US finally got the denim majestic scuba, plus speckled black and marled ultra violet.

– Speed tights colors happened.  All the current speed tights (giant herringbone, parallel stripe, unbreakable) are now on both sides.

– US got the heathered deep coal cool racerback.

– No think fast hoodie yet!

– No gratitude wraps either.

– Swiftly racerbacks appeared in menthol and pow pink light, so hopefully this is a sign that more of Australia’s goodies in those colors will make their way to us before too long.

– Lastly, while I’m at it, Australia got these new flash light speeds earlier this week, in case you wanted to know:

Yeah, I noticed that. Thankfully not a big bummer for me–I tried one on last year and it looked absolutely ridiculous on me. Money saved…

That might save me then, we’re built similarly (although you’re much leaner). I knew there was no chance of me getting into a store before Monday. However, I’m LOVING the fluff off pullover and the ivivva pants!

Well, imo you’ll want to size down. The probably for me was the combination of both baggy and long just swallowed me whole. If you can get a more fitted look by sizing down, I think it helps balance things out a little more. The concern with sizing down is it might be too narrow in the shoulders/bust, though, and there’s not much to be done about that.

I have flash jacquard speeds from a few years ago, it’s such a great color. Plus, it makes me look really tan, which is a nice perk. :)

I would buy just about in flash!! I hadn’t yet discovered lulu the last time it came out, so I’m also hoping it comes to North America very soon so I can get my hands on some flash pieces!!

Maybe the zigzags will distract from any possible sheerness, hah…

I was very interested in the Gratitude Wrap, but have heard mixed reviews. Curious why some people say it is made cheaply, yet they sell out fast. I did end up ordering the new Power Y (the ultra violet/black grape) which I think looks really pretty

Maybe what people meant by being made cheaply is the way the snaps are sewn in. The stitching is visible from the outside, which I always found very off-putting on these. Other than that, I don’t remember noticing anything else that seemed cheap when I tried one on last year. As you mentioned, they’re very popular.

I have the Blue Gratitude Wrap from last year and the fit is very flattering compared to Savasana Wrap. I don’t think GW is cheaply made either.

Pretty sure I read these have only been seen in Canada and the conclusion was that they were old stock. :-/

I don’t think it’s old stock. Cadet blue only came on the scene this past spring, after the gratitude wraps from last year. Last year, the navy was inkwell, not cadet. Also, there’s quite a few heathered light grey cotton items right now, so that colorway fits with this year’s offerings, too. And if a deep zin GW had been spotted, I’d be more inclined to think it’s old.

I hope you’re right! This is what I read, saying there was a deep zin available… http://lulumum.blogspot.com/2014/12/parallel-stripe-speed-tights-flurry.html?m=1

I’ve never understood the draw of gratitude/Savasana wraps, they look ridiculous on me. The new karmacollected wrap was about four sizes too big even in a 2, and the jacket was cute but much too short.

Parallel stripe, giant herringbone, and unbreakable blah blah (I can’t keep up with color codes) speeds and om stripe multi passion crops came home with me tonight. The giant herringbone are great and compressive in the 4 I was able to try; I tried the 2 in the giant herringbone skinny wills (those are luon not luxtreme) and they were too small (and VERY warm). Parallel stripe and unbreakable won’t come in 2s so I’m not sure I’ll keep the white, they’re a little thin and tend to get baggy. The parallel stripe and om stripe are both nice decently thick luxtreme and aren’t shiny/cheesy feeling like I thought the snakeskin/stained glass love speeds were. Passion crops are my new fave but I don’t tend to wear crops, they hold me in very nicely.

I think I figured out the “3D” aspect of the patterns of WUP/WUCS they have released as special edition items: they do have a bit of a texture. When I brush down on mine they are smooth, and if I brush up they’re slightly textured. I like them a lot and think they’ll wash very well. They don’t impact the clarity of the print at all.

No love for the Emerge Renewed jackets which I was so excited about. Just too…structured and lululemony for my taste. Definitely a TTS, I was swimming in a 6. Good thing this week was all about Fluffin’ Off pullovers and a jacket! :-)

AA- still no sign of the needlepoint onesie! The exquisite onesie was, for lack of a better word, pornographic on me. Way too much cleav for me at 28. I’m 5’4″ athletic build 102 lbs, 34-C and I looked like the sad, orphaned, poorest Kardashian. Exquisite bra was even more awkward, it is not designed for those with a short torso! The bottom part below the cutout had nowhere to go on me and just kind of curled up into itself.

Hahah I love this comment. Thanks for the report! I thought the passion crops provided good compression, too, even in my size up. I was also really confused when you said herringbone and unbreakable speeds because I was like OMG THERE ARE SHORTS, and then I realized you were talking about tights. D’oh. Unbreakable print speed shorts would be baller though, now that that’s on the brain.

I don’t see anything in the mum post/thread about deep zin–maybe the comment was edited/deleted? Meh.

That’s anybody’s guess! There’s been quite a bit of stuff in Australia that hasn’t made it to North America (and some things this past spring that NEVER showed up), so there’s definitely no guarantee. Nobody can really predict it at this point. That said, we will have to wait and see if flash light is part of an upcoming color palette–if so, the possibility is much more likely.

I was really confused & thought there was no upload until I read this post, ha ha! I ordered the Beat the Sleet pants. Not exciting, but very practical. I like that they’re unlined so I can wear in warmer weather too on rainy hikes & walks. I ordered a size up since I’ll layer in winter so am curious how they’ll fit.

That UV skirt is gone, btw. Must have been a big hit.

    No WMTM upload yesterday. :-(

Yeah, there was a big ruckus about the missing WMTM on the facebook boards. I normally don’t stalk WMTM too religiously, but I should start doing that since there are a few things I might buy on WMTM that I didn’t get full price.

The pigment pleat to street sold out really fast, too. Those skirts are really popular for whatever reason, especially in solids. I’m still hoping against hope for dog runners for winter pants, or at least something very similar. Warm AND dog-hair-resistant = awesome. I wore my dog runners THREE times this week. I’m not sure if I should be admitting that, but there you go. :P
