Went to the store today and tried on the bruised berry CRB, aquamarine rollin with my omies tank, fatigue camo wunder under crops, split singlet in bleached coral, and sweet spot hotty hot shorts. I was hoping there would be more for me to check out, like anything wee wheez, the patience tank, fatigue camo inspires, or the fatigue camo speeds, but this was pretty much it! Hoping for more Thursday.
For reference, I wear a lulu 2 and am 5’3″.
Fit review: bruised berry cool racerback
Well, pretty much love everything about this. The fabric soft, supple, and not too thin or thick. And the color, of course, is amazing. I’m wearing my regular size. I’m supposed to be severely restricting my lulu purchases right now, but I am dying to go back for this!
Fit review: rollin with my omies tank in aquamarine
I’m on the fence with this tank. On the one hand, there’s nothing wrong with it, but on the other hand, it’s not really that exciting. The fabric is quite lightweight: if you wear it over just a sports bra, it would definitely keep you quite cool for super-hot days. The fabric on this lighter color is slightly sheer. In the top 2 pics you’ll notice it can be styled closed or more open like a wrap (I prefer it this way). That said, you can only open it but so much because the inside panel is sewn very high, as I show in the lower right pic. The upper right pic styling is as low as it will go unless you were ballsy and detached a few seams. I’m wearing my TTS size 2. You probably could size down if you have a narrow waist, but you don’t need to.
Fit review: fatigue camo wunder under crops
I actually liked these more than I expected! The fabric felt nice on and provided good compression. Plus, I just like luxtreme WUs in general, so that helps. They passed the squat test–no sheerness issues. They fit TTS for me. Also, they look good with bruised berry. :) These were hard to leave behind, too.
Fit review: split singlet in bleached coral
The only vaguely good thing I have to say about this top is the fabric is nice and lightweight. That’s about it. The fit was a complete disaster. It’s shorter in the front than I expected (it barely reaches my waistband!) but so much room through the midsection that I could be hella pregnant and it would still fit. Not only does the front flare out in the forward direction, it also flares sideways too, creating an “A” shape. The back length was more reasonable, at least. I’m wearing my TTS size 2, but even if a size down were available, it probably wouldn’t work anyway because it would probably be too short and too tight at the bust.
Fit review: hotty hot shorts in sweet spot angel wing
These are total birthday cake pj shorts. I wasn’t crazy about how they fit in my TTS, but I don’t think a size down would be at all comfortable. The fit or the color alone wouldn’t have looked excessively pajama-esque, but both together is no bueno. On the plus side, the liner is a pink-ish nude tone, which helps with some of the see-through liner issues a lot of light colored shorts have. Also, if this wasn’t already clear, since these are angel wing, it means they’re cream, not true white.

I think I like the rollin with my omies tank! I’m all about the lightest weight tops I can find now, and I like that you can wear it with just a sports bra. I need to try it on! I did break down & order the heathered forest in the flows & blue tropics 105 singlet today. I figure if they are still there in my size so long after upload, it was meant to be, right?!
AgentAthletica says
Yes, obviously it was meant to be! ;) Also, I’m wondering whether the omies tank will make it to markdown. While I think it’s decent, I also think it’s a tad overpriced for what it is. Maybe you’ll love it enough to pay full price, though, who knows!

Great reviews of each! The split singlet reminds me of a mullet–looks OK in the front…but don’t look at the back.. or the side. I’m on the fence about the om’ies tank. If it came in a different color, I would take the bait!

Yeah I had the same thought that the omies tank colors are really not all that tempting. Some saturated color would’ve been much nicer.

Were the camo wuc available in a size 2 in store? I was upset they didn’t release size 2 online. I checked right when upload happened and the “fringe” sizes 2 & 12 had sold out lines thru them from the start. It’s been really disappointing to me that lately so much of the new and more exciting things are not being made in a 2.
AgentAthletica says
Yes, my store had a 2, which is what I’m wearing in the pic! Weird that some things are released in stores in size 2 but not online. I’ve also been irritated by that happening. :

Wow. I wish I knew that they did that. I would have began the “hunt” already but now I fear it may be too late. Now I really want them as well. They look great on you. You should give in as you could always make your money back on these if you ever were to resell. I wish they would release everything online the same as in store. It’s bad enough so many brands have taken vanity sizing so far even their double 00 is too big and most companies xs is even huge for fitness gear. I used to always be able to count on lulu for the right fit but not so much anymore when they don’t even bother to make things in my size :(. Thanks for the info. I’m dragging my 2 year old along for a camo hunt tomorrow ;). Loving ur blog. The best lulu one out there.
AgentAthletica says
Yeah it’s not usually this way, it’s just lately that fringe sizes have been all over the map as far as what is and isn’t released and where. So frustrating! You’re right, though, that since they weren’t released online they would be easy to resell to anyone who missed out. It’s just that once I buy stuff, I have a TERRIBLE time convincing myself to sell, even when I need the money. It’s a problem. :) I’m hoping that I can afford to wait a couple days to decide and that the store won’t sell out!
Good luck on your hunt!! I will be sending good size 2 juju your way. ;) I feel your pain about 00s falling off and XS activewear being too big. I feel like lulu kind of has a monopoly as far as ultra-small activewear–almost no other brands offer that size. Lorna Jane sells XXS in a good amount of their stuff, so that is next on my list to try out. If I can stop spending my money on lulu for long enough to save a few bucks for it anyway, hah!! :)
