Lululemon flash jacquard speed shorts

Nike Pegasus 32 – photosynthesis

Despite fall layers and darker colors coming out in full force, summer isn’t anywhere near ending for many of us.  When I lived in Virginia and North Carolina, shorts weather wouldn’t really give up the ghost until something like October.  While I like boots, sweaters, crisp air, and colorful leaves as much as the next girl, I’m pretty cold-natured and tend to dread the incoming frozen weather.  I’m not one to complain about hot weather lingering.

These flash jacquard speeds are one of my favorites, ever.  I love all my speed shorts, but flash jacquard is on another level of special.  The color is so vibrant that it makes even pale legs look a little more sunkissed, and the texturing really makes them unique.  These are one of those “give up over my dead body” kind of purchases.  Btw, if you find some flash jacquard for yourself (expect to pay above retail for this sought-after color), I recommend sticking with your true speed short size.

Alala sent me this cropped tee a few months ago as part of my spring/summer ’15 review, and it’s just so very summery: airy, cropped, and electric white.  It’s been a fun challenge to wear, since it’s unlike anything else I have.  After some experimentation, my favorite way to wear this so far has been with shorts.  It takes on a sort of cheerleader-football-jersey kind of vibe.  While the stripe show-through from the stuff your bra might be sort of annoying in other contexts, I like the little bit of fun it adds under this tee.  When it’s absolutely unbearably hot, I like this tee as an alternative to wearing only a sports bra, since it doesn’t really add any heat, but protects your shoulders from the sun and adds just a bit of coverage.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got some more warm weather to enjoy.

Love this outfit!!! Absolutely adorable. I think the top would also look cute layered over a tank in fall.

Yes, it does work pretty well over a fitted tank, too. It’s nice to have the option for shoulder coverage on sunny hikes.

Super cute outfit and great pics :) And those speeds are one of my favorites too…I’ve gone from speeds to longer shorts and then back to speeds three times now (I really should just stay with speeds as I always come back from lulu’s longer shorts), and those are one of the pairs of speeds I’ve refused to let go whenever the long short bug strikes and I think oh I don’t need as many speed shorts as I have haha :)

Thanks! It’s good your intuition told you to hang onto flash jacquard, they can be tricky to find again. It took me quite a while to find mine!
