I really like the look of the grey cabin yogi wrap. So cozy. :] // ▲ itsCarmen.com ▲

I’m digging the long sleeve in, well, basically every color!

I might be the only person who can’t wait for the cabin yogi onesie. I’ll be wearing it over my cabin yogi long sleeve like overalls. You heard it here first.
I’m going to risk sounding like a total jerk here, but I noticed some of my boredom with the styles this season is the product notification photos. They’re so poorly styled and quite often the styles are simply not flattering on the ladies wearing them. I don’t mean to echo Chip by saying Lululemon clothes aren’t for every woman or body type. But there *is* a reason fashion uses models to market their product. Also, there is no creativity to the photos. Too many educators are doing this awkward pose holding the sides of their hoods or holding their be-thumb hole’d hands up to their faces. It’s so tacky and the staged nature of the photos is so cheap looking. Haven’t they noticed we react most to the photos of women doing more than just holding Starbucks cups, trudging to yoga? I love the idea of having your marketing initiatives largely controlled by your employees on the front lines but these techniques just aren’t selling it. I’m getting turned off before I even get to the store/upload. Just food for thought.

agreed.
it kinda cracks me up when I see comments like ‘cmon lulu, make more size 12+’. I mean, I’m not asking lane Bryant to make size 6 clothes. I buy from companies that make my size. and don’t get bent out of shape at companies that don’t.
Agent Athletica says
True. If the market (i.e. MONEY) is there for any size or product or whatever, someone will make a product to fill that niche. Capitalism abhors a vacuum, or something.

Lol LOVE IT!!!!! I am totally a jerk…. HOWEVER, I don’t want to see size 12+ in Lycra sorry!!! Just facts here

I think it’s kind of weird, too, to be honest. It’s disappointing when items aren’t made in the size range supposedly handled by lulu – 2-12 – but there are so many stores that only exist within this range of approximately XS – XL that it always perplexed me that people singled out lulu to poo-poo on. (Or do people complain about this in regards to other stores too?)
Agent Athletica says
I think lulu is an easy target given some of their public statements. XS-L is a pretty standard size range for a lot of activewear so the fact that lulu added XXS and XL to the mix is already a step beyond most.

I’m a size 0 in clothing and I can’t buy clothes at Target, Costco, Sam’s Club, Dress Barn….because they only go down to a size 4 or 6 even (Costco/Sam’s typically). I don’t go all Terminator on those stores because they don’t carry my size – I just find the few places that do and work with that. My gripe is that just because i’m a size 0 I must be petite and need shorter lengths. On the contrary I’ve got a long inseam and long arms and need longs (try to find size 0 long – won’t happen). I can’t buy tall’s because the rise is different and i’m not tall – just long legged. THAT I wish was easier to find. But most activewear lines do carry that same set of sizes so I don’t know why Lulu always gets picked on. Only a couple that I know of carry larger sized activewear (Zella is the only one I can think of at the moment).
Agent Athletica says
I’m about the same size as you, but I’m short. I find that everything is generally made for someone several inches taller than me, so I kind of have the opposite problem. Most pants end up with 3-5″ to spare. Your legs must be really long indeed. :)
Agent Athletica says
I think the solution to the model problem isn’t that they need to be skinnier, it’s that they just need to choose models that actually look good in the products. You can have a super hot figure but that doesn’t mean everything is going to flatter you, and sometimes you may have to fuss with it to make it look nice instead of just throwing it on.
And of course, it would definitely help if the products they’ve been making weren’t incredibly wonky (and in some cases beyond hope) in the first place.

Now the educator photos are a different story, but I think they are not putting them in the correct size on the site. Some of them look so ill-fitting, but it because they have like 1-2 sizes too big. I don’t know if that is because a 6 is their “sample size” or if they want that look. Either way, it is not flattering on the model.
I don’t like that educators feel the need to take store photos in 100% new Lulu…it makes some pretty horrible combinations. Throw on some oldies with a new piece and actually style it. Not every piece is going to coordinate when they are cranking out pieces every single week.

Those cabin yogi sweater pants should have never left the design table. Have yet to see a pic that makes them look cute. The rise is too high, the pant leg too tight and the bubble knees in some pics. It’s just tragic. Such good fabric stuck in a bad piece of clothing.
Agent Athletica says
Yes to all of that. In general, I don’t think sweater material is meant to be on pants period. It ends up too heavy and saggy and just problematic all around.

Love the photo shoot with the horse (or maybe I just love the horse?) No WMTM upload again. Are they waiting for the day after Christmas? Went to my local store this week. Nothing exciting. The sparkle/glimmer tights & bra from black Friday looked cheesy in person. The rest less pullover is so soft but too much $ for what it is.
Agent Athletica says
Yes, I believe they’re hoarding all the MDs til boxing day. I’ll have to stalk the website hardcore–there’s some stuff I might want if it goes to MD, like the rest less PO. That said, my full price wishlist is getting a little bit long right now so maybe I should just try to ignore the MDs unless I get really lucky with Christmas gift cards haha.
