Sale Alert!! Carbon38 Friends and Family 20% Off Anything (Today Only!)

November 14, 2015 / 23 Comments

RED ALERT!!  Carbon38 is doing a special 20% off friends and family deal, today (Saturday) only til midnight Pacific time!  Enter FF2015 when you’re checking out to score the deal.

I should clarify that the deal is 20% off full price items, but it’s any full price item you can find, including new arrivals!  Also, please don’t miss the other bit of fine print: all purchases with this code will be returnable for store credit only.  If you shop at C38 often, this might not be a big deal, but be sure you’re ok with this before purchasing.

As a slight aside, I just noticed that Carbon38 has added a review section to their product pages, including an option to rate sizing.  I had really been hoping they would do this, since reviews are sooo helpful when it comes to buying online.  If you’ve bought something from C38 recently, go review it and help a fellow fitness fashionista out. :)

Anyway, C38 has gotten some beautiful winter items in lately.  Here are some of my favorites:

Alala pewter silver captain tights

Alala black pewter silver blocked crop tights

Alala black pewter silver mesh clutch tank

So THIS new Alala stuff just dropped at C38.  I need ALL OF IT.  I’m guessing this collection will be uploaded to Alala’s site soon, but right now you can snag it from Carbon38 early!  I love the pewter lamé on the blocked crops and the captain tights, and the metallic mesh on the clutch tank is subtle but gorgeous.  I can’t wait to see the rest of this collection when Alala drops it! (P.S. FYI: a crop version of these pewter captains exist, too, as seen on Revolve.  If you would prefer crops, don’t jump the gun and get the full length just yet!)

Alala vegan leather sherpa vest

Also: Alala’s sherpa vest, released last month, has been getting numerous positive reviews from AA readers.  Since it’s $225 at full price, 20% off makes for some pretty significant savings.

Alo purple pennant airbrush leggings

I *love* the pattern on these airbrush leggings from Alo, but beware: you might run the risk of sheerness if you get white patches in the wrong places.

Alo winter white relief puffy jacket

Speaking of Alo, you can get a winter white down jacket of theirs for only $118, *way* cheaper than lululemon’s $198 down for a run jackets.  I can’t find anything on fill power, so I’m not sure how the warmth compares. (P.S. it also comes in black.)

Zara Terez gift wrap bow print crops

Zara Terez is in the holiday spirit with a couple festive releases, like these fun bow leggings.  There’s also a new fair isle print as well as some glitter action.  Zara Terez isn’t too expensive to start, and they shake out to $62.40 after the code.

Sweaty Betty pinnacle training tights

C38 recently started stocking Sweaty Betty, which is a nice alternative to ordering from the UK.  I like these pinnacle tights, although sadly C38 only carries regular length, no shorts or talls.  On a related note, some of the pics from their recent running edit are really cool (blog inspo?!).

Nice haul!! I’ve been eyeballing the shadow hoodie but am wondering if I’d be swimming in it, so I’ll wait for your review. :) Another blogger (My Superficial Endeavors) really likes her S59 matrix top so I hope you love yours too!

Does anyone have the clutch tank from alala? I am usually a small in their tops (6 in lulu) but I would want it to fit like the model (i.e., not skin tight), so I’m not sure if a M is better.

Also, my sherpa vest (which I ordered from alala) definitely does not have drawstrings, in case those matter to anyone (in a good or bad way!).

Huh, I just noticed the model pics of the vest don’t have the drawstrings, it’s just the flat lay. Go figure.

I have the clutch tank. If you are a 6 and like a body skimming fit, you may want medium. If you want it tight, you could probably get a small. The clutch tank is more hourglass friendly than some lulu tops in my view. Accommodates large bust, small, waist, wide hips well. If that is your shape, a small might still have the effect you want (not skin tight).

hmmm, i do have a small waist relative to my hips, but not a large chest.
this is very helpful though – thanks so much! i think i will try the medium, as i really hate tight tight things.
        very much appreciated!

Eek I’m so tempted to pull the trigger on the pewter captain crops on revolve but trying to decide how much use I’d get out of such a bold crop. Also I’ve never tried alala so not sure about sizing. I reread your review on the captain crops, and you said the legs were a big roomy. I’m between a 2 and 4 in lulu (2 in speeds, small 4 in crops usually because of sheerness, xxs in athleta… Would I do the xs in alala? I have problems fitting in some brands because I find sometimes the knees tend to be too baggy on me. Has anyone tried this fabric of the pewter? Also wondering how comfortable these would be to work out in. Love your blog, aa! As a fellow petite (5’3″) I find your reviews so helpful! :)

Yeah you would definitely want the XS captain crops. I don’t have baggy knee issues in these, but that’s also not something I experience/notice much. You *might* find them big on you, but they might be just right, hard to say. Revolve does at least have free and very easy returns (they send the label and a mailing envelope in the package) if they don’t work out. And thanks for the blog love!! :)

I bought the pewter captain crops from Revolve. I’ve already worked out in them, and they’re totally comfortable! My only wish with these is that they weren’t hand wash only ( my other captain crops can be machine washed). If you don’t want something so bold, try the blocked crops with the pewter accents. As AA said, they’re not super compressive, so you would likely want your smaller size. I think you will like the length of this crop, which seem to me a bit shorter than my cobalt blue ones in the same brand. I also love AA’s blog. Never would have heard of Alala without her!

Thanks for the review!! I pulled the trigger and ordered both crop styles to try. I’m glad to hear the pewter can actually stand up to a workout and not just look pretty :) and good to know they’re hand wash only… I probably would have overlooked that!
