Nordstrom’s annual anniversary sale started today! If you’re not a complete and total lulu-holic beyond hope and like to venture into trying other brands, sales like this are a great time to branch out. Also, unlike lulu, markdowns are never final sale, and Nordstrom offers free shipping and free returns whenever you get around to it. In other words, it’s a much lower risk buying situation, which I count as a major plus. I kind of feel like every online clothing store should offer free shipping and free returns, BUT I digress.

Also from Zella, if you’re tired of lulu’s hum drum summer color palette and want some more bold color choices, here are two options. The first is a cotton zip hoodie for $49.90, or a fitted jacket somewhat similar to the forme for $58.90. This bra from Solow totally does not look like a sports bra at all, but it is. This would be really cute for yoga, pilates, and barre, and would transition nicely to casualwear to boot. Time for more color!! The amp’d bra by Josie is, for once in your life, a cute bra that actually comes in multiple cup/band options. You can choose from a 32, 34, or 36 band and either B/C or D/DD cup. It looks a lot like the energy bra from the back. These are $32.90 a pop during the sale.
Also, supposedly some of the back panels/straps have a heat-sensitive component in the fabric that results in a small color change depending on how hot you are. Sorcery.
Back to bottoms. For the print-loving runner in you, Nike has these legendary dri-fit capris in a cool marbled blue/teal. The colorway is called “turbo green”, but whoever named that probably does not deserve a raise because these are definitely not green. These decidedly non-green pants will put you back $59.90.
Ok, these venetian purple Beyond Yoga leggings are kind of awesome. They have a mesh-lattice-fishnet-inset-type-deal that curves around the back of the leg. Really flattering and tastefully subtle if you ask me. Also, the deep purple is a really beautiful tone. Me gusta. $58.90.

I bought a set of anniversary sale MAC makeup brushes a couple years back, and I have to say, it was a truly excellent purchase. 50 bucks for a set of brushes from a highly reputable brand is a deal that can’t be beat. They have two sets this year, the one you see above, and a “basic” set.

I bought that MAC brush set yesterday! Can’t wait for it to come in the mail. Has your set held up well? I was a little hesitant in buying because I know they are not the full size brushes you can buy individually; however, I’m not a makeup artist or anything so I don’t need the full size brushes. I barely use brushes for make up as it is!
Yes, it’s a couple years old now (2? 3? can’t remember) and they’re all still in great shape! I have used my blush brush almost every single day since buying and it’s still going strong. It’s true that they’re not the full size, but the full size ones are just SO much more expensive, so I think these are a good compromise.
What great prices! Thanks for the scoop. I ordered the Zella knee-length capris in plain black. I don’t have a black pair in that length, and you can’t beat $30! I had no idea Nordstom carries all those brands. I will probably order Beyond Yoga (that purple legging was out of my size) from them because of the free shipping & returns.
You definitely can’t beat $30, and everyone seems to love Zella’s leggings/crops (I’ve never bought a pair myself because their sizing doesn’t work for me). Nordstrom doesn’t carry every piece of the brands they stock, but if they do have what you’re looking for their shipping and return policy puts everyone else to shame!
