Next Week: Fo Drizzle Jacket + Rise and Shine Jacket + New Prints

January 29, 2015 / 13 Comments

I’m so glad this week’s Britt’s picks is up early!  We got a big dose of new spring gear in this edition.

1

The US will be getting the all sport bra, which I already posted from the UK this week in vintage pink.  I believe this is the new nightsky harbor blue print.

2

The fo drizzle jacket, an old favorite, will be brought back for spring.  Not a style I need or want, but seems to be quite a popular one.  This looks like inkwell or the new naval blue.

The miss misty jacket will be coming in the new seaside silver fox alberta lake print that was on the speed tight waistband on this week’s upload.  I kind of like this print, but probably would prefer it in smaller doses.

3

New pace pusher long sleeve coming, made of light luon with the obligatory mesh insets.  Nothing too thrilling here.

The rise and shine jacket, however, has potential to be very popular.  The mystic jungle fatigue green is reminiscent of last spring’s fatigue camo rise and shine, which was insanely popular (I declared it the most sought after item of 2014).  Maybe this will sate those who are still hungry for that style.  Some people on the chat boards had mysteriously spotted this on resale boards a couple days ago, which sparked about a billion rumors.

4

New no sweat pant, which miraculously, are a sweatpant that don’t have a dropcrotch.  Mystic jungle again.  I actually kind of hate mystic jungle (the colors anyway, too earthy for me), but these look like potentially the most workable/cute sweatpants lulu has made in a long time, and since they aren’t quite full length, they might work for shorties too.  We’ll see.

The scream green swiftly is another thing from the UK this week that isn’t super-breaking news.

The pace pusher crops are another new style, they look like they have a large mesh vent in the back along with the obligatory reflective detail at the side.  I like that these are a little past the knee.  The pattern, brush strokes harbor blue menthol, totally reminds me of Athleta’s recent blue and green motifs.  Splits59 has been toying with shades of blue and green too, so this color scheme looks like it might shape up to be a common thread (er, no pun intended) for spring.  I actually love this new pattern and will be interested to see what all it comes in, I might have to snag one or two things.  Speeds with contrasting black trim?  Yes please.  And while we’re at it, a matching bang buster that reverses to solid harbor blue, k thanks.

5

We already knew about the speed tight update from Canada’s additions to upload this week, although it’s noted that there are some small fit adjustments too.  If you didn’t like the fit of previous speed tights, it might be a good time to give them another go.

Street to studio pants will be back, this looks like fatigue green.

New what the sport singlet for Canada, which looks like a semi-sheer light layer for warmer weather.  Doesn’t look super-exciting, but probably practical anyway.  This looks like vintage pink, probably raspberry glo trim.

6

Lastly, what the sport shorts are coming in the new brushed illusion print seen in Australia this week.  I wonder if this means we’ll be getting the inspires next week, too, or at least to follow soon.

I’m really loving the Pace Pusher crops. I usually only wear dark bottoms, but these are tempting. I just registered for a 10k in May that attracts a flamboyant female crowd, so maybe. I should probably just wait for a CRB, but I might have to order them and at least give them a shot at home.

The problem with the printed CRBs is they tend to not be as soft, and they “grin” across the chest (white bits showing through). So, consider this a vote in favor of printed bottoms. :)

I have high hopes for the no sweat pants! Hopefully in a solid color though.

So far she’s only mentioned grey. That’s a solid color I suppose, but not too exciting.

I haven’t tried anything lately, it just looks like the stuff I saw online. :)

I want that swiftly! Hope it comes in a S/S. It’s already warming up in north west Florida.

There was a swiftly SS in scream green in the UK, so probably it will.

I keep hearing how great the Fo Drizzle is. Do I need it if I have a Miss Misty pullover, Spring Forward jacket, and an Athleta rain trench? It looks like it falls between sporty and dressier, right? Medium weight?

I looove my fatigue Fo Drizzle and I wasn’t expecting it. I am always a size 6 in jackets and had to size down to a 4. It was perfect a size down if you are not too large in the shoulders.

From my understanding, yeah, it’s more of a to-and-from and a medium weight (twill). So, maybe you could justify it, although the colors aren’t suuuuper exciting. Personally, I live in a pretty dry climate so even my one rain jacket barely gets worn, haha.

Really loving that blue/green print. I have gotten so much use of last year’s Spring Forward Jacket that I can justify another running jacket. Wonder if I’d like the Rise & Shine as much… (though I’d only consider in a bright color).

A lot of people seem to really like the rise and shine, so maybe yes. :)
