Aren’t the crops on the first picture the stash it crops? They’ve been around for a while.

At first I thought you might be right, but as Jenn pointed out above, the pockets look a little different. I cross-referenced this photo: https://images.lululemon.com/is/image/lululemon/LW6E69S_018135_5?$pdp_zoom$ and the way the seams meet with the side pocket looks like it’s a little different. There’s a diagonal seam in the store pic that runs from the front thigh to the butt that isn’t there on the stash it pic.

I don’t remember the name of the crops, but I have them. They’re from the last year or two. They actually pretty much suck- the luxtreme is full-on and it doesn’t breathe. Also the seams are hard. I wish I could return them. :P You guys aren’t missing much!

Another commenter said hop to it crops!

Is that a new FTB under the lullaby swiftly racerback? Hmmm
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
I wondered that too! Can’t get a good enough look to tell. If it’s new, maybe another store will post pics today. :)

here it is

Word. Reminds me of a less awful version of flowabunga, bahaha. Similar small, petally floral print though, I mean.

I think those are new crops. The stash it has hip pickets but not side pockets, and it looks like these have side pockets. Dammit. My Lulu ban starts today. BTW, might be good that you didn’t wait for that run backpack. It’s really geared toward running.
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
Yeah, I think you’re right. I don’t have a very good mental glossary of run crops in my head so I was trying to rack my brain for possibilities. If it’s new maybe there will be more pics today! Also what do you mean re: geared toward running with the backpack?
Jenn @ Running on Lentils says
The back of it has a hard panel designed to keep it very close to your back so that it doesn’t bounce around. When I go hiking, I like soft backs rather than hard backs; it just feels more comfortable. I’m not sure I’m going to keep it for that reason, since I wanted to use it for more than running. That’s the main thing. But then there are slots on the outside for gels that I doubt could be used for other things. There are bungee cords on the inside and out so that things don’t move around, but that would be good for other purposes too.
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
I read on the fb boards that you can actually slide the hard panel out without any cutting or damage to the pack (I didn’t see pics so I can’t say how this was done). Might be worth poking around if that’s appealing to you. The two backpacks I bought actually have stiff backs, though I’m not sure if it’s the same type (I’m not very knowledgable about these things, I admit). There were many that were uncomfortable or didn’t fit right, but the ones I ended up buying fit well. I’m actually hoping to use the smaller of the two for trail runs. Gotta muster up the willpower to go do it in hopes it will make running less miserable for me. :)

Actually, a good hiking backpack will typically have a stiff back (similar to an internal-frame pack) to protect your back from being poked by the contents while hiking/climbing. A soft, padded backing is nice is you want it to conform to the curves of your back, but could flop around. Most serious, iking packs will be stiff-backed.
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
That was kind of my thinking, since as you said, it smooths out the lumps and bumps of water bottles, lunch, etc that can poke into your back if not situated just so. I suppose the other thing is that its structure can be made to allow more airflow to stave off the sticky, sweaty back feeling.
Jenn @ Running on Lentils says
Thanks for the tip! It’s not at all obvious that it can be removed, so I’ll have to investigate. I’m not doing serious hiking, so I don’t need a hard back and find soft more comfy. But I can see how this pack will really hold the pack tight to you to keep it from bouncing. To make running less miserable, just slow up when it feels hard (when you can’t talk conversationally) or take walk breaks if you need to. Slow running actually has lots of benefits!

Running hydration pack – Nathan Firecatcher. Doesn’t bounce, lightweight, small, plenty of pocket things to hold stuff and holds a 1.5Liter bladder. You might like this one better.
