New Next Week: Lots of Petal Camo

September 19, 2014 / 11 Comments

britts+picks+sept+19

Here’s what’s happening on this week’s Britt’s picks.

Canada will finally get the here to there dress after lagging behind the US got it.

Britt notes in the text that the US won’t get the new right as rain jacket colors for another couple of weeks.

The new brisky biker jacket will be coming in at least one new color.

The puffy blanket jacket will be online for those who haven’t gotten their hands on it in stores.

Rust berry will be making an appearance on a swiftly.

More petal camo on everything: a pace setter (already spotted internationally earlier this week) and a cool racerback.

And yet another &go crossover line will be rolling out, featuring a petal camo skirt and top, plus a pair of trouser-looking pants.  The skirt and top are made of softshell, which is an interesting change of pace.

Another week that doesn’t particularly excite me.  Ho hum.

Ho hum indeed…though perhaps that is a good thing for the bank account, eh? :)

Oh yes definitely! I’m not exactly broken up about it, lol.

Speaking of petal camo, I just got my petal camo inspires and they are obscenely sheer! I have 6 pairs of inspires and none are sheer at all. The print is beautiful but there’s no hiding the butt crack in these. Le sigh.

Ugh. I’ve heard a couple people say that petal camo bottoms are sheer now. Why is this so hard, lulu? :(

I was really excited about petal camo speeds, but then I saw the sashiko speeds in person. They are so lovely! I can’t believe I am saying this, but I can see why they are $4 extra (quilting, waistband details, cute zipper, etc).

Fair enough! At least they are only $4 more, not $10-20 more like some of the wunder unders coming out lately…

The mark up on wonder unders is ridiculous!
Now that I think about it, even $4 is too much. The little, extra details are what made lulu special to begin with. Now we have to pay extra for what used to be standard? Not cool.

Speaking of sheer-I just got the inky floral embossed Hop to It Crop, and holy I can read the hang tag in a not-so-deep bend. Sad, but did I really need $98 crops?

Mine were sheer too but only when I was in a squat and I did size down. For running, I’m not going to be squatting/bending over while outside as I do all my stretches in the house before and after I go so I’m not worrying about it since they looked fine when standing/fake running in bright light, but if I was going to be doing that stuff outside or in a gym, then there is no way I could have kept them. Also, my rebel runners in the bordeaux inky floral had the same problem. I had to size down in the rebel runners in this print too and could not detect any difference in sheerness btwn the two sizes — equally sheer in the squat in both sizes. Don’t know what is up with lulu and the embossed prints on the run crops and sheerness, but it would be nice if they could maybe thicken up the fabric just a wee bit or something to eliminate the issue.

Yeah, I wonder what it is about the prints that makes the fabric processing SO different that they just can’t keep it opaque? Weird, and frustrating. :(

Well, I’m the worst person to ask about $98 crops and needing, but that’s a shame nonetheless. :(
