Glossary: Acronyms and Jargon

General terms:

[B]NWT: [brand] new with tags

NWOT: new without tags

[D]ISO: [desperately] in search of

[V]EUC: [very] excellent used condition (typically for items that show no signs of wear)

[V]GUC: [very] good used condition (might have wash wear, some pilling, or perhaps a stain)

Bonesy: very worn, usually has pilling, stains, holes, or some combination of all 3

Angel: a lovely person who buys an item and ships it at their cost to someone who for whatever reason can’t get it themselves (sometimes used as a verb: “can someone angel me a pique vinyasa?”)

BIN: buy it now (can be used as a noun or verb, e.g. “black CRB with $20 BIN” or “omg I just binned my unicorn for $30!!”)

CC: credit card

Damage out: when lulu accepts a defective item and offers an exchange or refund

EMT: Email money transfer, a method of sending money/payment in Canada

Fringe sizes: sizes 2 and 12 (i.e., on the “fringe” of lulu’s sizing offerings)

FS: for sale

GEC: Guest Education Centre; aka lulu’s customer service

Ivivva: lululemon’s line of clothing for girl’s; a lot of women can fit into the larger sizes or buy accessories at cheaper prices

LBB: Lululemon Bidding Battles, a popular facebook group that functions as a bidding site for reselling lululemon

MD: markdown (if an item is “on MD” that means it’s marked down—lulu does not use the word “sale”)

NML: not my listing (used if you post a deal but want to make sure people know you aren’t promoting your own listings)

OBO: or best offer

OOTD: outfit of the day

PN: product notification; the weekly email stores send out to guests with the new product they received that week

PP: paypal OR “pending payment”, i.e. indicating an item is sold pending payment

SB: starting bid

SeaWheeze (or just “SW”): the annual lululemon-organized half marathon held in Vancouver; there is a SeaWheeze-exclusive store every year with tons of exclusive product

The Exchange: Lululemon Exchange, a huge facebook group for fixed-price reselling

TTS: true to size (in other words, you would wear your normal size in something that is TTS)

UBF: Unicorn Bidding Field, another popular facebook bidding site

Unicorn: an item you really, really, really want, which may be very hard to find (and perhaps even seems to be nonexistent), much like an actual unicorn

Upload: when new products are added to the website, generally 9:45pm Pacific time on Monday nights

WMTM: we made too much; the section for marked down items, typically updated every Wednesday night around 9:45pm Pacific time (if someone says “WMTM is up!” that means new items have been marked down and are now in that section of the website)


Products:

CRB: cool racerback

DHBH: don’t hurry be happy; popular Sherpa fleece pullover

DSJ: dance studio jacket

DSP/DSC: dance studio pants/dance studio crops (sometimes the “dance” is dropped)

FTB/F2B: free to be (bra)

FTBW: free to be wild bra, a popular variation of the regular free to be

IPLUX: interlock power luxtreme; two layers of luxtreme bonded together, which has since been renamed to “full-on luxtreme” or just “fullux”

ITF: in the flow crops

LS: long sleeve

NLT: no limits tank

PO: pullover

SFT: sing, floss, travel; refers to an older, very popular zip-up hoodie

Speeds: a fairly obvious nickname for speed shorts

SS: short sleeve

WDW: wet dry warm; an older version of speed shorts, swiftlies, and a few other products

WL: wanderlust; a few exclusive, special-edition items were made for attendees of the wanderlust yoga festivals

WUC/WUP: wunder under crops/wunder under pants (sometimes shortened to just “wunder unders”/WUs)

XL (referring to tank): extra long (NOT extra large)


Colors:

BBB: beach blanket blue

BSG: black stripes galore

CSS: coal strata stripe

Davies: “make davie run crazy” colorway

MW: milky way

PS: parallel stripe

QS: quiet stripe

SHS: spring has sprung

UT: unicorn tears

WAFS (occasionally WRFS): wee are from space; a cross between wee stripe and space dye (the “stripes” in WAFS are more defined than space dye, but more random than wee stripe)
