Mail day!! I’ve been waiting all day to post so I could snap some pics and write up a quick fit review of today’s delivery. This was my biggest upload haul in a long time, and I was pretty excited for it to come today. For my unremarkable budget, this along with some of my other recent deliveries has made the past week practically feel like Christmas. :)
Grapefruit cool racerback
This one was a bit of a wild card for me. I was attracted to the bright shade, but wasn’t sure how it would turn out in real life and if it would be a bad color for my skin tone. Thankfully, it didn’t make me look half-dead or anything. Grapefruit definitely looks different on different fabrics/items, but on the CRB it seems very similar to flash light, but a little more orange, and a little less orange/more pink than very light flare. Note in the lighting of these photos, it looks a little more pink than it is in real life. It’s definitely not the easiest color to photograph.
I don’t have any tanks that match my tonka stripe/flare speed shorts, so I was wondering if these might fit the bill. The flare trim is definitely more orange than the tank, but the match is more or less passable.
You can also see in this pic that the fabric is thin enough that the stripes of my new classic stripe bra (see below) show through, but over other darker-ish colors (harbor blue above), it’s not really noticeable. It’s not a super-thick CRB, but not paper-thin either. The fabric is decently soft as well.
As I pulled out a few things to match, my favorites were pretty consistently darker or more saturated colors and patterns. Brighter or lighter colors tended to look a little over the top. (L-R: bruised berry, tonka stripe/flare, harbor blue, spring has sprung, fatigue camo)
Overall, this one’s still in “maybe” territory for me. In its favor, it adds a totally different option to my top array, which at its current state is pretty predictable. On the other hand, I’m not sure if it will be versatile enough and if I’ll reach for other colors instead.
Greyt/deep coal/black speed shorts
I snagged these because I feel like they strike a nice balance between being a versatile neutral while incorporating lots of interesting and fun details. The zipper and vent seams are flash light (pretty sure, but they might be grapefruit), the piping under the waistband is tranquil blue, and the inner waistband lining is classic stripe.
In real life, the contrast seam doesn’t bother me as much as it could, though I’m sure I’d like them better with a matching grey seam instead of white.
I’ve heard mixed sizing reports on these. Some have found these tight through the hips while others have said it’s true to size. I didn’t notice any sizing weirdness on my pair, and they are comparable when lined up with other pairs. If anything, the leg openings seem a little large compared to the fit across my hips/butt, but this isn’t that unusual for me.
Overall, these are another maybe. The contrast seam isn’t my favorite, but it’s not too bad. The color is of course versatile and will look especially great with bright colored tops. I’m leaning towards keeping, but I’ll have to put them on a couple more times before I make up my mind for sure.
Classic stripe/flash light stuff your bra
This was the item I was most excited for, and it didn’t let me down. Although I do love my energy bras, I’ve been trying to branch out a little more. One of the things I like about the stuff your bra styling is that the dual layers give good coverage while not looking like an overwhelming swath of fabric (which is a gripe I have with some high-ish coverage bras). It’s super comfortable and looks great on. The support is medium and overall, both sizing and support felt similar to my energy bras of the same size. One difference is that the stuff your bra is cut a bit lower at the armholes versus the energy.
The white parts of the stripes are a little sheer, making them flash light tinted instead of a crisp white. I’m not sure how much I’ll end up using the bra “pockets”, but it’s nice to have the option should I need it sometime. My iPhone 6 fits in the larger pockets (with about half of it sticking out the top), but definitely looks pretty weird.
The only downside to the SYB is that the cut of the straps and armhole area means that the bra bumps right up against/across my scapula. You can especially see this on my right shoulder in this pic. (Here’s an energy bra on me for comparison.) This means as I’m moving my shoulder blades around, it’s a little bit up in my business. I don’t think it’ll be a big deal, but the real test will come when I wear this for workouts. And of course, since bra sizes and body types will vary, you may not have the same issue. (Update: I wore it to work out in and it was perfect! No issues with shoulder blade awkwardness.)
I was really excited about pairing this SYB with my flash jacquard speed shorts. As I suspected, I looove this combo!
Out of the 3 things in this order, this is definitely my favorite–keepers for sure!

I don’t typically stuff my phone in my RSYB’s. The middle is perfect for chapstick while running and hiking – no need to stop and search for it. I use the other pockets for gels (both running and hiking) and when I drive to trail it holds my car key in one pocket while I have my ipod nano in the other pocket (it has a case to keep it dry from sweat). For these items the Run Stuff Bra is 2nd to none and so handy. I have 6 or 7 of them and am wondering if I need more and keep looking at this flash/striped one because it’s so pretty but I have nothing in flash and don’t typically care for neon’s. It’s sitting in my cart though. Lol!
I think you’ll end up loving it!

Yeah, I figured the pockets would in practice be more useful for smaller necessities. Since not all of my bottoms have pockets, this will definitely be a good alternative for stashing. As for the color, you could always get and decide once you’ve seen the color in real life and checked it against some outfit combos, since bra returns are free. ;)

I love the Stuff Your Bra. I have 4 of them in my bra stash. My iPhone 6 sticks out, but I’m fine with that because it’s easy to reach under a shirt if I need to grab it mid run. Even though it sticks out, it’s still pretty secure in there. I love this color way. I’m definitely thinking about getting it.
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
Get it!! :D I haven’t been that drawn to most of the SYB colors in recent years, but I definitely love this one.
Naders says
I think it all looks fab. The CRB may not get as much love as some of your others but it is such a feel good color
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
Yeah very true, it’s such a happy color. :)

You look super good in all of these!
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
Aw thanks!! :)

I’m gonna check the grapefruit crb in stores tomorrow, but I’m almost sure I’ll end up passing on this one. Even if I like the colour better than in ebb and swift fabrics, I’m not sure it will match well with my other fitness wear…
You didn’t end up getting the grapefruit speeds?
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
The grapefruit speeds haven’t uploaded in the US yet, alas! I’m thinking I’ll order them when they do, though.

Very cute!!! I understand your hesitancy on the color. It looks great on you, but when my I see grapefruit, I feel like I can’t figure out the shade. Maybe I’m just too in love with jeweled magenta!
I picked up the 2 dance studio tanks that are on WMTM even after I previously dissed the bleacher stripe print. They are so cute on, plus it was like a two-for-one!
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
Yeah, grapefruit seems like it’s kind of having an identity crisis between being pink and being orange. :)
GlitterRunner says
My speeds are TIGHT through the top band. I was SO discouraged because well I am like, did I gain weight?!?!?!?! I left the tags on…Might order a size up because I do love them and I haven’t loved a speed short color/pattern in a while. Now though I want to try that bra! Off I go!
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
Hmm that’s weird. I didn’t notice mine being top in the waist, but speeds sizing has been all over the map. It could just be that one pair? Who knows.

Love all of this on you – thanks for posting your review! I received my grapefruit CRB in the mail this weekend and I love the color. It’s really different than my other CRBs so I’m keeping it. The flash/stripe RSYB should be coming today – I’m so excited to try! I tried the grapefruit speeds on in my local store, and I’m sad to say the fit was really odd. They were really tight through the hips, but flared out a lot at the bottom, and seemed a lot shorter than usual. They didn’t have another pair in my size to see if I just tried an off pair and I didn’t think to try my size up. Now I’m on the fence about ordering them if they show up tonight. :( Maybe it’s ok since I grabbed those flash light speeds that were uploaded randomly several months back – I love those and the colors are pretty similar.
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
Thanks! Lots of people have been saying the grapefruit speeds run weird. Since these were not uploaded again this week, I’ve been having some doubts about whether I should bother ordering or not. I think you’re right that flash light and grapefruit are awfully similar to have both.

I do love that bra, but sports bras are… problematic for me. I’ve only found about three sports bra brands that fit me, so I would definitely have to try on the SYB before buying. But those speeds! I’m still loving ’em, glad to hear your pair didn’t have sizing issues but knowing others did makes me nervous. I’m actually thinking I should go down a size in the speeds – but that makes me nervous too, as slowly as lulu’s mail tends to get to me, I still don’t think I could manage a return. I can see I need to think a bit more before buying. (You look great in everything, by the way!)
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
Yeah, speeds sizing is a total crap shoot it seems. :( It’s a shame you can’t try them out before being stuck with a pair, since there’s probably not a guarantee that sizing would work out.
carly says
You look fabulous in everything! Love these bright colors for summer:).
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
Yes, it was definitely a fun, summery package to open. :)
Brooke says
With the stuff your bra do you think I could put my phone in there while I’m running?
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
Another commenter mentions she uses it for running and her phone stays! So yes, it’ll probably be fine, but of course the size of the bra, your boobs, and your phone will all affect how comfortably it fits and stays in.
Brooke says
okay thanks!

I ordered the same striped SYB and found it be to a bit looser than my other (plain black) SYB. The band felt looser on this one and the straps were a tad longer (not good since I want a sport bra to hold up my breasts). But I think the size down (size 4) would be too tight and constricting, so I ordered another size 6, hoping the first one was just a fluke…
Guest says
Thanks for this feedback, suebee. Saved me from buying it.
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
Odd. Mine was exactly the same width at the band as my energy bras, and I didn’t notice any strap length funny business either. Maybe it was a fluke like you said? Lulu isn’t super consistent lately.
Jenn @ Running on Lentils says
I think you should keep all three. :) Grapefruit is such a fun summer color, and I like it better than Very Light Flare. (I’ve never sold my Lulu so feel like I’m stuck wuth VLF.) Also really love both the shorts & bra.
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
Thanks for the enabling, haha. I’ve bought a lot the past week or two, so it’s tempting to return just to keep the budget down low, but sometimes that’s a recipe for regret. I have a little while longer to decide, at least. :)
Jane_Doe says
You look great in all three items! I’m considering returning the grapefruit crb because it turned out to be too bright. Perhaps grapefruit in SSs would be better. Gator green crb – now that I love.
I also ordered the grey SSs. The seams and the whiskering bothered me but it’s still a pretty pair. I’ll say keep that!
I finally got to try on my jet crop slims (trouser). There’s no crotch drop on me, def keeping them. :)
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
Thanks! Grapefruit is definitely super, super bright. I’d like to try the grapefruit speeds but they are so slow uploading them to the US, and I don’t want to have them shipped from a store. Sigh. So glad the jet crops worked for you, though!
