Lulu Upload: New Scubas + Sapphire Twist + New Coast Wrap

August 11, 2015 / 27 Comments

Not as much excitement this week on upload, at least for me.  Pretty much everything is coming out in the new so fly butterfly and/or ziggy snake prints.  This week continued again with the early upload thing.  Upload was live on the app as of about 3:10 Pacific when I checked, but could’ve been up for a while by then, not sure.

Lululemon space dye twist sapphire blue wunder under crops

New sapphire blue space dye twist wunder under crops AND pants.  Also, take note of the free to be wild peeking out: looks like some pipe dream blue strap action?  I’m going to hazard a guess that it’s going to be a ziggy snake FTBW. (Edit: missed it the first time around, but it is indeed ziggy snake, and it’s in Australia here.)

I wanted to give these a try, but the US did not get size 2 uploaded in either crops or pants (no 12 either).  Canada, meanwhile, has all sizes.  Lulu is just being mean to fringe sizes.  I don’t want to get an angel or have them charge shipped from a store, because I’m not sure if I’ll like the colors in real life or not, and it’s not worth the additional hassle and the risk of not being able to return them.  One of the main reasons I started buying (and continue to buy) lulu is the availability of a size that REALLY fits me, which is so hard to find.  The games they’re playing with size 2s and 12s just makes for a truly infuriating customer experience.

Lululemon wee stripe white grey scuba hoodie

A couple colors of the new scuba iii uploaded.  2 colors for the US, 4 for Canada.  The more I see pics of this, the more promising it looks.

Lululemon mini camp check cranberry scuba hoodie

Speaking of scubas, Katelin mentioned in what we love that the scuba ii will still be made available in new colors throughout this season.  Here’s one now: the return of lumberjack, except this year it’s mini camp check cranberry instead of mini camp check bumble berry.  I actually kind of wish this was a scuba iii so I could give it a go.

Lululemon sunset salutation shorts ziggy snake

New sunset salutation shorts in Canada.  They’re made of swift and feature a crossover waistband that can be folded down (it’s folded in the pic here).  There’s no indication of a liner, but the leg opening looks small enough that there might not be flashing worries anyway.  Also, take note these are 2-way stretch!  If you’ve been missing 2-way shorts, maybe you could give these a try.

Lululemon run the world tight black so fly butterfly

The run the world 7/8 tights are up, and they’re much more colorblocked than I expected from the pics I saw on what we love.  In this black/so fly butterfly print, they actually remind me a little of my Alala blocked crops.

Lululemon ziggy snake pipe dream sapphire blue high times pants

Super-electric ziggy snake pipe dream sapphire blue high times pants in Canada.

Lululemon pink lemonade what the sport singlet

This new pink lemonade what the sport singlet is really cute with the white trim.  Note that this is a revised what the sport singlet, as discussed in this past week’s what we love.  This color is Canada only, US only got cranberry and black.

Lululemon heathered medium grey coast wrap

New coast wrap in the US.  This is in the same vein as the old savasana wraps and the like, but with an updated look.  It’s made of modal.

Lululemon training tough socks bon bon pink

Lulu came out with a high sock for CrossFit/lifting: the training tough socks.  They’re not that cute compared to a lot of socks out there, but I’m sure the fact that they’re lulu will help them sell.  This pink is called bon bon.  US only right now.

More on upload

The heathered cranberry cool racerback is now in the US (it was already in Canada last week).

The post savasana pullover is back in on both sides in 3 colors.

The new definitely raining jacket is here on both sides, though Canada got one additional color.

New cranberry reversible wunder under pants iii for the US side.

The pretty cranberry tie dye swiftly short sleeve is up if you’re in Canada.

All kinds of new pink lemonade shorts: super squads, trackers, AND run times.  Now where are the speeds, then? (US only.)

The secret sanctuary scarf was uploaded, although this was spotted several months ago overseas.  In case you want a zip-up-cocoon-blanket with a pocket.  Or something.

That FTBW is up overseas. It is the pipe dream snake print whatever that the speeds are coming out in. Love them both, but I’m a sucker for blue.

I actually looked before I published to see if it was overseas, guess I missed it! Oops. :) Thanks.

Hiii! :) It is a ziggy snake FTBW with those pipe dream straps, can’t remember if I saw it on the UK, HK or Aussie site, but i’m 99.9% sure I saw it somewhere.

Nothing is screaming BUY ME NOW, but I do like the lumberjack thing. Guess that’s the Connecticut blood in me talking. I’m with you on if it were a III instead of a Scuba II, I’d give it a whirl.

Ok I “only” got the cranberry CRB and the pizzaz swiftly racerback and LS (I am in love with that color!). But now I’m rethinking whether I should get the lumberjack scuba. I have a feeling it’ll sell out before I make up my mind!

Also, I agree with you it’s unfair Lulu are shafting the fringe sizes. I actually think about this a lot because I’m not even a small person (meaning I have a medium sized frame and am not petite) and I wear a 4 in a lot of styles. There are loads of people built smaller than me who need a 2! And the same applies to the other end of the size scale!

I kind of want the lumberjack scuba too! I skipped out on last year’s but kept thinking about it. I remember it selling out pretty quickly the first time around. I just haven’t been wearing my scubas much, and I don’t wear much red so I’m not sure how much wear it would get. It’s just so cute. Ugh. :(

Oh geez, I ordered it! I saw a pic earlier this evening on a Lulu model and wasn’t sure I liked it. But seeing it on the website swayed me. I was actually chilly enough last night that I put on a scuba (indoors) so I know I’ll be wearing them a lot in the coming months…I don’t know if it’ll look right on me, but very curious to try this one on!

The cranberry is definitely less pink than the bumbleberry was, if that matters at all .. More of a true lumberjack. Hahaha

Agree! It’s lovely in person – even better I think than last year’s color. Didn’t buy because I hate the fit of Scuba IRis, but v cute!

I’m really hoping for some more fun colours of the Scuba III to show up! Nothing there was uploaded today that tickled my fancy.

Yeah I noticed all of them were neutrals. Maybe cranberry or sapphire will turn up?

I got the sapphire space dye WUCs. Those stripes better line up. I refuse to pay premium pricing for pants that are wonky looking. The WUPs I saw in store earlier in the day all had misaligned stripes. I also got the post savasana sweater in blue cuz it’s pretty but that might go back since it’s a pretty oversized fit. I was swimming in my usual size 4 ( plus the sleeves were way too long). I had a look at the scuba III and I can’t say I was impressed. Plus the $118 price tag was off-putting.

I’m eager to try a Scuba III as well, just waiting for a color I want. I almost bought the run the world tights to try but for $108 I decided to skip it.

By the way, the post savasana pullover is back in the US, too. Like Anon, I bought the blue, I think it’s quite pretty.

Also, I *do* want a zip-up-cocoon-blanket with a pocket thing. Ugh.

Yaaaawn. I was hoping for that heathered black Define this week, no soap. It’ll be a good six months before it’s cold enough to wear it here but I waaaaaant it!

Oh let me say that sapphire blue on the WUP/WUC is BEAUTIFUL. Not into the twist texture or whatever it’s called, but it’s a good blue. Like if Pipe Dream and Baroque Blues had a baby … It’s a lovely, super saturated blue. Can’t wait for more !

Went to the Palo Alto store this evening – tried the new blue stripey WUC… They are really pretty and soooo lusciously comfy! But they stayed in store because (a) stripes didn’t quite match up and (b) I’m overloaded on Lulu striped pants! Not many new pretty tops, but tried the cranberry/snake Define (gorg!) and in flow/flux/whatever (meh) jackets, and the new Scuba III – it was such a pleasant surprise! Wildly comfortable, soft and cozy, great fit in jacket size-down (regular jacket size was baggy and unflattering), and much more “moveable” than scubas of old, which I always found to be weirdly oppressive. All in all, I think this is a good update to the scubas :)

Ugh really? The WUCs are misaligned too? Is it so hard for Lulu to match up the stripes!? Did they pick the one pair with matching stripes for their website photos?!

I know!! So frustrating. I tried on two pairs and the stripe placement wasn’t horrible on either – they just didn’t perfectly matched up, which I think makes it look as though you have one slightly lopsided butt-cheek! Other than that, they were really nice and comfy.

I’m so sad about my WUCs. They came in the mail today and the stripes are totally off. WHY Lulu WHYYYYYY?!? I love everything about them except for the mismatched stripes. Sigh.

Nothing for me since I bought a lot recently, though I do want to try the scuba iii on in store. Finally got my second package from last week’s upload, and I’m not sure how I feel about cranberry. Maybe it’s just the swift material on the pace rival skirt, but it seems muted, plus it doesn’t hold a candle to gorgeous bumble berry. Still, it’s a color I don’t have and will go with a lot, so not sure if I’ll be returning.

I was hoping to see the pink lemonade CRB but no such luck. I’m trying to talk myself out of ordering it when it does arrive because my closet is sort of overloaded with pink tops, but pink hues are my weakness. And if lulu offers a CRB in that bon bon color…oh boy. Anyway, I ordered the lumberjack scuba to try – it matches the colors of my alma mater so I can wear it to football games and more. OT, but I still have the cyber stripe blue HTs with the tags on from last week’s upload. Like you AA, I was surprised to find they are slightly sheer despite the thickness and texture, which lessened my interest in them so am debating on keeping them, though I agree with strategically selected underwear it should be ‘ok’. On that note, I really am over this sheer pants thing. I wore a pair of special edition WUs (with the tiny mesh line down the back of the legs) I got this winter to a class last week, saw my bum in the mirror during child’s pose, and to my horror realized the pants are incredibly sheer. I was mortified. It’s a real ‘bummer’ because I don’t tend to wear leggings out and about – oddly enough, I buy them for working out. Seems like a difficult concept for lulu (and other brands, to be fair) to get a handle on – we don’t want to work out in sheer pants. I’ll now be on the hunt for a super long top or two to go with these pants. Sigh. I’d love to find a pair of simple black leggings like WUs that aren’t sheer – any other brand ideas?
