Happy Monday! I hope you’re feeling rejuvenated after the weekend and are ready to tackle a new week. It’s warming up outside, and that means I’m not going to the gym bundled up in 17 layers anymore.
Even if you’re sweating buckets in the warmer weather, the idea of wearing a sports bra as your only top can be daunting. My CrossFit gym isn’t air-conditioned and it’s common practice for women to shed a layer on top. Likewise, in the summer time, hikes can get brutally hot. Still, I can’t help but feel a little self-conscious.
One helpful way I’ve found to ease yourself into it is by choosing a bra and bottom that cover a little bit more. This combo can help get you comfortable with the idea of wearing a sports bra alone while also helping you feel a little more modest. If you’re self-conscious about your belly, a high waist will keep you covered so you’re not distracted by how you look. Ultra-high waists like these K-Deers can help accentuate the natural waist, which is a nice bonus, too.
The sports bra is the second half of the equation. By wearing a sports bra with a little more coverage, you won’t feel like you’re letting it all hang out, which is especially helpful for those with more of a full bust. The advantage of this sports bra from Alala is that the perforated fabric means it’s still breathable–that’s really helpful since heat management is the main reason to go sans shirt in the first place.
The cherry on top is that this combo is all sorts of on-trend. No matter which way you look at it, it’s a killer combo if you ask me.

i love the “more options” thingy at the bottom. fun and helpful!! I’m sure it was time consuming, so thank you :)

You’re welcome! Surprisingly took less time than I thought it would, which basically never happens, hah.

I was looking at your “more options” and I am thinking about ordering a sports bra from Alala. I was wondering which Alala bra is your favorite? And what do you think about wearing the high-neck bra with a tank for workouts? Does it look ok or would it look odd?
Thanks! I love getting your opinion!

Hmmm… My favorites would have to be the snap bra and zip bra. The snap bra is actually from last season but it’s still on the site!
As for the higher neck with tanks, you can get away with it. I usually wear them with higher necks (like muscle tees), but it can work with a plain ol’ racerback tank. As an example, this is the snap bra with a lulu CRB: http://www.agentathletica.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Alala-snap-bra-layered.jpg Hope that helps!!

Love the stripes! Kdeer has some cute patterns in their newest collection that are calling my name.

Yes! I really like the new wildcard print.

You look fantastic in the photos! I get self conscious wearing only a sports bra because of my fair skin, not because of my body. I live in Florida, where being super tan is almost expected, so being very light, especially on the stomach, always draws a few insensitive comments from people. I would love to sport the sports bra and pants/shorts look, but I’m always so scared! I live in the perfect place for that combo, it’s super hot here like 10 months of the year!

Wow, people really say that?! That’s nuts. I’m fairly pale too but that’s definitely not something people seem to care about around here.

Love this combo idea! I really love that bra but neither of the current colors are calling my name.

Thanks Jenn!! :)
