Hello My Pretty: Menthol/Alberta Lake Free to Be Wild Bra

December 20, 2014 / 11 Comments

Lululemon menthol alberta lake free to be wild bra

The title says it all: new free to be wild bra in menthol with alberta lake straps. [Thanks to Agent B for the photo]

I’m a sad panda that the FTBW doesn’t get along well with my lady situation because this is my favorite so far of any FTBW. #pityparty

I actually didn’t think much of menthol when it first came out, but it’s really grown on me, and I’ve developed a sort of weird fixation on it lately.  I suppose I’m clinging to menthol as some kind of lulu-lifeboat in the midst of all the other weird stuff that really doesn’t do anything for me.

(In fact, you might’ve noticed I changed my blog colors to menthol.  This was not an accident.  I literally took a swatch of menthol off lulu’s site.)

Yeah, I like this because it’s the good part of lulu: a cute color scheme on a clever, yet functional design.

I’m in the same situation. Little lady with big boobs. They pop out of the 4 but the 6 is huge in the band. Actually, even the 4 is a little too loose :( I have a size 6 that I might alter the band with, since I am handy with a needle and thread!

Yeah, I can do a size up, but the band is loose and overall just not half as comfortable as an energy bra. When it comes to sports bra, smaller-busted ladies have all the fun… Good luck with your alteration adventure. :)

I had the same issue with the FTBW. I looked like I was stuffing the ladies in my TTS, but when I sized up the band was too loose.

I did get the Wild Tank and thought the bra was MUCH better. (I have issues with the FTBW and the Energy Bra so I thought this was a perfect medley.) The tank isn’t too fitted in the front. If you have a tiny waist, it probably will look baggy in the front, but the back is really pretty. I love it for my “I feel puffy” days. I wore it yesterday for my Inferno workout and it was so comfortable.

Yeah I really like the idea of the wild tank, but I think the front is so blah, and I do have a very small waist so I think it would look reeeally unremarkable on me from the front. For a $64 tank (or whatever it was), that’s not great, but if I find one cheap, that might be a different story.

OMG give me that now!! I hesitated last time menthol was out and have been waiting for its return since. Alberta Lake is gorgeous but I haven’t really liked any of the pieces it’s come in (except the Alberta Lake herringbone WUPs from a few years ago that I passed on – only because I bought the black and black swan pairs and couldn’t justify alloftheherringboneWUPs).

Sounds like you’re in luck. :) Both menthol and alberta lake are great colors. I like alberta lake especially because those dark, moody, cool tones are rare in the lulu-verse but they’re so pretty.
