Heads Up: Tons of New Markdowns in WMTM (for US)

March 19, 2015 / 20 Comments

Lulu is doing some serious spring cleaning.  As of this writing, there are 119 products on the US side of WMTM, a pretty massive increase from week’s past.  Stores marked down a ton of product too, and of course may have more than what’s online.  Canada only has 36 right now–maybe they will have a bigger MD clean out in the coming weeks.  I guess it’s not warm enough yet there to justify MD’ing all the winter items. :)

Winter rulu items finally hit MD, including numerous sizes and colors of the think fast PO ($69) and LS ($59).

Race with grace 1/2 zips are also $69.

LW5G71S_016646_2

Textured wave inspire tights for $79, only sizes 2 and 4 right now.

The if you’re lucky bra is already on MD–surprising.

The light speed vest and jacket also took pretty quick trips to MD, although the tights are still full price.

Yogi crew sweaters are now $69.

All WMTM is here.

I know! Great WMTM upload this week! I didn’t get anything but want to check out my store to see what they have and try stuff on.

I got my shipment from yesterday’s order already! The Fringe Fighter is nearly identical to the Bang Buster. Fringe is slightly (1/8 inch?) less wide, but I couldn’t tell a difference. What the Sport Singlet is my new favorite tank! It’s fitted but not super tight like a CRB, so it’s much more flattering to curvy figures than a 105F Singlet IMO. Plus, I can’t wear a 105 running because the straps flop around, but with the design of the What the Sport I don’t think they will flop. And the heathered black cherry color is gorgeous. Will definitely order in more colors. I got my CRB size 6, which is fitted but very flattering like I said. I do not think I’d like it as much if I sized up. Miss Misty Jacket is going back. :-( Silver Fox is so pretty, but the plastic white zippers look so cheap. Love the length, but it’s just pretty shapeless. I will wait for a better jacket.

I think I’m going to be at a store this coming Wednesday (omggg :P) so I’d like to try the what the sport. The 105F basically swallows me whole, so I think the somewhat closer-fitting what the sport might be a better option. Since I doubt we’ll get a blue tropics CRB, maybe the WTSS will do the trick. ;)

Speaking of which, I’d like if lulu added in more tank options with interesting backs WITHOUT built-in bras. The WTSS (and basically every other bra-less option) is kind of boring in the back, just your standard issue racerback. I can go on Lorna Jane, for example, and find quite a lot of tank styles with cute and fun straps (although they won’t fit me as well, grrrrr), but not so much with lulu.

I agree! The back of the WTSS is what I like least.

I thought I was finished buying for the day until I saw this post! Had to go back for the Think a Fast LS and PO. I can’t resist a sale price.

I picked up the Think Fast Pullover a few weeks ago at the same price at one of the Lulu outlets and love it! I was tempted to buy another pullover or jacket but I’m in the Bay Area and it’s already creeping up into the upper 70s here. I had to stop and ask myself how many Lulu jackets I really need going into spring and summer. I also already spent too much today on the Tory Burch sale.

Yeah, unless you’re in a really cold climate, it doesn’t make sense to have more than a couple rulu tops. Honestly, a lot of them are really similar anyway. If they did a bunch of interesting colors like black grape, menthol, pigment, etc, it would be much harder to resist hoarding lots.

I think they wait too long to put stuff on markdown. I would have bought several items a few weeks ago, but now I’m looking forward to summer items/colors coming out.
    Oh well, money saved. :)

Agreed, I’d love one of those herringbone run pullovers, but it’s starting to get quite warm even here in Canada so I’d rather update my summer wardrobe then buy something I won’t wear for six months!

Good point. And they’re waiting even longer for Canada! Even though it hasn’t really warmed up where I am, my mindset is definitely shifted more toward spring and summer pieces now. Even though I had wanted some of the items that are on MD right now, I’m just not “in the mood” anymore. If I’m going to let it sit in my closets untouched for months, I’d rather stalk deals on ebay over the coming months and pick up something extra-cheap that way.

That said, I’m sure most of it will sell without much trouble, just maybe not as quickly as year’s past, which seems to be their MO lately in general.

The timing is awful – not only have I sworn off ordering anymore Lulu online (due to a string of sizing issues and a return time I can’t deal with) but I’ve put a temporary moratorium on frivolous spending. Too bad – I would love the herringbone think fast pullover.

THANK YOU for posting this! I really wanted the nightfall stained glass Fluff Off pullover, but I already have one (which I love for winter running) and told myself I was not going pay that overinflated price to get something I already had one of. But there it was… only my size was left… a little over half the original price… and I grabbed it the minute I saw your post. When I went back to the site an hour or so later, they were all gone. Thanks so much for the very timely alert! I would have missed out otherwise.

I bought a bunch of stuff I’ve been looking at for months because I’m a hoarder! Too warm to wear some of it now, but I’ll save them for next fall/winter season.

I’m on the fence about the Think Fast LS. There are too many grays to choose from!

I love my Think Fast LS. Great run tops! Also great with jeans for cool/cold evenings. I have the pique and the silver herringbone. Pique one is softer but both are really nice!

Haha, true. I like the black herringbone and coco pique best, personally.
