“Yo girl, what the heck am I reading?” you say…
Weekend picks is a new blog experiment where I pick out noteworthy content related to health, fitness, and being awesome, and compile it all here for your enjoyment. This feature may (and probably will!) evolve quite a bit over the next few weeks. Feedback? Sound off in the comments.
Tasty eats:
Orange ginger chicken wings from Stupid Easy Paleo
I’ve made this recipe numerous times since I discovered it a couple months ago and gawd it is so good. I double the sauce and toss the wings in half of it before baking, then use the other half for dipping. What can I say, I’m a sauce whore.
Tasty eats #2:
Dark chocolate coconut bites from Pinch of Yum
These are super-easy to make, only contain real food, and are straight-up *delicious*. My honey doesn’t usually get excited about dessert things, but he keeps threatening to eat the entire batch of these. I added some chopped almonds to some of them, which was an excellent life choice. I’m definitely going to try more variations. If you’re looking for a clean treat, here is your solution.
Good sounds:
I’m pretty sure this ambient mix is one of my favorite mixes ever. I like it best for a little pre-bedtime yoga. I’ve probably heard the whole thing dozens of times and I never get tired of it.

Cool stuff:
This tank. Lolzzz.
Getting inspired:
This little pick-me-up from tumblr user freshcleanfit makes me smile.
Today for my workout I ran an entire 5k. Without stopping! Saying I’m “not a runner” is a bit of an understatement, so this accomplishment was A Big Deal for me. I wouldn’t have thought I could do it before today! My time was 32:27, 55 seconds faster than the 5k I ran 5 weeks ago (which involved plenty of stopping). Reminding myself of this quote helped to keep my pace slow and steady. So I made a thing about it.
