Active Fashion Picks for Spring

Active fashion picks for spring

L-R, top to bottom

Lululemon free to be serene bra | The serene bra is a higher coverage, higher support version of the free to be tranquil bra.  It has a thicker band and sturdier straps that are friendly to slightly larger busts.  I primarily rely on lulu’s energy bra as a do-whatever sports bra, and I’m hoping the serene bra will be just as good.

Strut This the fitz tank | A slightly cropped, tie-back tank is one of the hottest top silhouettes right now.  I like that the fitz tank has enough slack in the tails to really accentuate the tie.

Adidas by Stella McCartney gym bag | I need another gym bag like I need a hole in the head, but this simple but feminine design is awfully nice to look at.

Varley bandini crop | I love the support of a thick band on a sports bra.  The mesh front on the bandini bra looks flattering on all the models I’ve seen, too.

Michi onda top | I’ve been pining after this top for weeks.  The drapey open back and scooped hem is a beautiful way to switch things up from my usual tank routine.

S’well Los Angeles bottle | The minimalist palm on the white background could not be more seasonally appropriate if it tried.

No Ka’Oi Lani bra | No Ka’Oi’s colorblocked, Hawaii-inspired designs are like nothing else in the activewear world right now.  This delicate pink lani bra is my favorite design of theirs so far–it would look fantastic paired with high-waisted crops.

Active fashion picks for spring

L-R, top to bottom

Heroine Sport tracking legging | I love the speckled gradient effect on these for a unique take on monochrome colorblocking.

Nike power epic running capri | What would a spring roundup be without a bold print?  You can’t fail with a swirl of pinks, purples, and blues.

Koral lasso short | I’m trying really hard to branch out from wearing nothing but lululemon speed shorts non-stop all summer.  The loose fit, drawstring, and mesh overlay of these Koral shorts is athluxe perfection.

Lanston Sport odin legging | Another way to wear white activewear without a total white-out.  These are backed in black for coverage.

Ultracor ultra high lux knockout legging | These fun printed leggings are not losing ANY steam in fashion.  I tried the not-so-high rise version in black and gold (I wrote about them here) which didn’t work for me, but the newest colors in the extra-high rise version make it tempting to give them a second try.

Lululemon keep score tight | I can’t get over how much I love white activewear.  Honeycomb mesh is on trend, and no one will say no to a side pocket.  These have been getting good reviews for coverage, despite their color.  For a more practical option, the black version looks sharp, too. (P.S. If you missed these, the new mind over miles tights are very similar.)

Nike zonal strength training capri | I’ve had Nike’s zonal tights on my radar ever since I saw Gofitjo rocking the full length version.  The cropped version looks fabulous for warmer weather, and I love this shade of blue.  I also love the berry in full length.

I too am obsessed with that Michi top!
I can’t do white. I tried one white item this year (the Alala run top), and I literally managed to get blue pen on it during the try on process while the tags were still on even though I wasn’t holding a pen… perhaps I set it on my dresser and there was a pen there??? Who the F knows. Luckily it fit since I ruined my chances of returning it. Anyways… my mysterious ability to stain white with ghost pens combined with my 2 year old’s mysterious ability to smear stuff on me even when he’s standing ten feet away = no white. I don’t need extra stress in my life.
Luckily that top comes in other colors :)

Haha oh man, that’s impressive. I agree, maybe best to stay away from white for you, lol. I’ve somehow managed to keep mine relatively clean, so I’m riding that wave of luck while I can!! :P

mind over miles crops in white look hot though! so does the white free to be serene bra. I’ve never tried the energy bra..would like some advice on size if anyone has suggestions? I’m a Lulu 4 in bottoms and 6 in tops and 34D in normal bra size.

Am also currently loving the marbles and whites from Nimble Activewear this spring.

      Hi Priya,
I’m also a Lulu 4 in bottoms, 6 in tops and 34D! For the bras I always size up to 8 and it has never failed me. I own to Energy bras. Hope this helps!

I looooove white, but I’m already so paranoid whenever I wear a nice white top (I’m a coffee fiend)! I had the white ALO moto leggings for a while and white Flexi Lexi yoga pants…ended up selling both because yoga / working out shouldn’t be stressful haha. I managed to wash the Flexi Lexi with a pink sports bra and the white mesh parts turned a very light pink, but thankfully the rest was fine and it wasn’t too noticeable, so it still sold. Such a klutz.

Also I’m loving the silhouette of that Varley crop bra. I’ve been into a longer line sports bra lately so I could get away with wearing just a sports bra if I need to.

Have you seen the new L’urv Sportswear collection? It’s so pretttttyyyyyy

Just went and took a look at L’Urv, the green punch love print is so adorable! And I had the same thought on long line bras. It feels like a slightly less in-your-face way to pull off a sports bra only, especially if you’re wearing high-waisted bottoms.
