Happy Thanksgiving, Internet! Or, American Internet, I guess. I have emerged from my pie-induced friendsgiving stupor to catch up on the special edition upload earlier this evening. The “what’s new” page still has the items on it from upload earlier this week so it requires a little bit of an attentive eye to spot the new stuff nestled between the slightly less new stuff.
Overall, there weren’t a lot of surprises since we had seen quite a few previews over the last few days. I was really not excited or impressed by basically any of it. The scoop back LS is the only thing I’m keen on, and even with that I’m going to wait for some reviews to roll in before pulling the trigger.
Speaking of which, I had hoped for more colors besides black of the new scoop back LS, but…this wasn’t exactly what I had in mind, you know?
The flouncey tee is frankly offensive, too.
UGH I CAN’T. These are more of those special edition wunder under that only have a printed panel on the front. The golden goddess and bead envy versions were uploaded too. Canada only received a stained glass love nightfall all-over print.
This lab shadow jacket in black was a bit of a surprise.

These aren’t rolldown WUs after all, they’re rolldown shine tights. Even though the pictures made it look like there were glitter shine tights, I think the pic was just black shine tights with actual literal glitter just floating around them. The only “glitter” is the shimmy shimmer prints.
The loose-fitting pants in the preview pics are actually just jet crops. This is shimmy shimmer black/white.
And these aren’t rolldown boogies but rolldown shine shorts. I would imagine the cut on these is exactly the same, the name is probably just because of the fabric’s finish.
The core set bra comes in both shimmy shimmers and black.
The power date blazer was a surprise on the Canada side. It says it takes you from “power yoga to power lunch”, but I’m confused why a blazer is related to yoga at all unless you’re just, you know, wearing work clothes to yoga and changing? I don’t get the quasi-suiting piece in the context of lulu’s overall brand image.
The fatigue camo festival bag was a surprise for me. I had suspected the fatigue we saw in Aus/NZ wouldn’t make it to North America, but this was uploaded tonight.
A couple other notes:
– Ultra violet speeds were uploaded to the US side. These do have a black liner, so proceed with caution
– US got the mind and body kits plus totally toasty accessories that Canada already has.
– There was also a big WMTM upload, so be sure to check that out if that’s your thing.

Just left lulu at Irvine Spectrum. No new markdowns so to speak, it’s all the same sashiko stuff that’s been on the racks for weeks. I was considering the shine pants in the sequin pattern but they’re starchy, not slippery and shiny. The patterns really needed to appear lustrous and bright up close and the matte fabric does nothing for them. Very weird. Easy pass. Might consider the lab jacket (does that make anyone else think of a chemists lab coat?) but the 4 was a little big and they make no 4. The fleece is very thick à la scuba hoodie. Gold zipper is nice, good cut and solid construction. But decided to wait on it. Heading to a lulu that alleges they were sent markdowns (read: a healthy serving of the shit that sold horribly nationwide) but I have nothing better to do at 8:32AM anyway.
Had a return and walked out $248 richer. Best Black Friday ever!

The lab shadow jacket definitely seems like the most wearable thing of the bunch. I’ve heard a couple less-than-stellar reviews of the sequin thing now–good thing I didn’t want it anyway, hah. Also, that’s an awesome deal with ClassPass!

I’ve never placed an order with BY, and I just realized I can use my 25 points for my first order AND the 30% off code… Oh dear me, lol. The space dyes are all gone in my size, which is fine with me, but I’m eyeballing some of their other leggings, probably the back gather leggings. I can snag them for less than $40! Debating between wild plum, sangria, moroccan blue, or something “boring” like navy or heathered grey.

I find BY leggings very color saturated in the richer dark shades, if that makes sense. The plum wine crops are an old favorite.
Ordered the plum! Not sure if “wild plum” is different from “plum wine”, but regardless, it’s a pretty color, so I’m excited! Hoping they’re thick and opaque. :)
