Upload 10/28: Reflectivity + WTF Is Boom Juice?

October 28, 2014 / 12 Comments

I don’t know if it was just my computer, but upload seemed to be just a few minutes late.  As everyone probably suspected, the reflective gear was the highlight (get it?!) of upload today.  Other than that, there wasn’t very much that was interesting.

The fleet street hoodie is one piece we haven’t seen in stores yet.  Only the US got this, but for $178, I’m not sure any Canadians are crying about this one.

Not going to belabor the reflective stuff, because it bores me and there have already been tons of pics of most of it.

The new “HMNJ” swiftly color from the other day now has a name: heathered boom juice.  I actually lol-ed at this one.

In the words of Will Ferrell: “no one knows what it means, but it’s provocative–IT GETS THE PEOPLE GOIN’.”

The chakra scubas returned in power purple (above) and pipe dream blue (even though there’s already a solid pipe dream blue scuba…).  They were pulled previously because one had a typo and lulu didn’t want to offer an incomplete set.  Ironically, these 2 are offered as an incomplete set anyway–there is supposed to be at least 2 others.

Canada got this new deep coal manifesto script scuba, as well as an upload of the ghost manifesto seen in stores.

The flaming tomato and heathered slate CRBs were uploaded to both sides.  US also got the tonka stripe heathered slate/white.

I KNOW everybody is excited for two new colors of the long and short of it jacket.

New black/deep coal diamond jacquard space dye skinny grooves.

US got the out of this world dress in inkwell.

Another new color: tonka stripe rose bud silver spoon.  Rose bud looks like barely pink from this past spring.

Other upload notes:

– Where the frigg is the CDBG swiftly?  The name mystery continues…

– No new patterns, even though a couple have cropped up in stores.

– On top of all their other quirks, the reflective speeds were only made in sizes 4-10.  Or at least, they’re only in those sizes online, not sure about in stores.

– Both sides got the flaming tomato diamond jacquard space dye WUC.

– US got the going grape 105F singlet.

– US got the coco pique wunder under pants that didn’t make it last week.

– US also got the herringbone base runners (no other colors), and Canada got zero.

– The US got the yama check bumble berry/toothpaste speeds, but I’m passing.  Canada caught up with some trackers and run times colors that had already been in the US like wee wheezy berry yum yum.

That’s all for this week.  Nothing earth-shattering, but I’m expecting a much bigger and more interesting upload next week to kick off November.

This is chalet dot green bean: http://media-cache-cd0.pinimg.com/236x/3d/9f/08/3d9f0896b6f94f655aa2b97884672f22.jpg so not like the swiftly h|c posted below. I bet the green bean is CDGB, not CDBG.

Upload was super lame today. Haven’t bought anything for the last two uploads…thinking about getting that heathered boom juice swiftly though.

Yeah it’s a pretty color. I’m sad they’re not making scoops anymore. Also: November is usually expensive, esp with black friday coming up (trying to save a few pennies for deals on other brands/other things), so cheap uploads now will help later. :P

Because I run in the early, dark mornings, the reflective stuff would be very practical, but I agree that I can find the same functionality for much less money. I am so wanting the black coco pique WUPs. But because they would just be bumming around pants, I can’t justify the $92 price. Still, it will test my will to not buy them.

I feel like if you’re spending the extra $$ on lulu, it’s because you want it to be stylish, and this stuff doesn’t really have a lot of that going on. So I agree, the same function could be found elsewhere. Also, not to be tremendously unhelpful, but I really love my coco piques.
