Koral Activewear’s mystic capris are one of their signature styles season after season. The basic heather grey and a just-barely-cropped silhouette is a simple but chic fitness staple. I’ve seen numerous positive reviews for the mystic capris, so when I found them for 30% off during a sale event, I thought the price was totally worth giving them a shot!
The #1 thing I’d heard people say about the mystic capris is how soft they are. And they’re totally right. They’re almost criminally soft and feel absolutely wonderful on.
The fabric has a ton of stretch but only very light compression. They are completely opaque. The fabric is thicker than a lot of other leggings, but isn’t too heavy. It’s pretty solidly a medium weight, but still breathable and definitely not as hot as a thermal fabric. The weight is ideal for low- or medium-sweat workouts. For high-sweat workouts, I’d reach for my cooler, lighter fabrics like lululemon’s luxtreme (or just go straight for shorts!).
On that note, a common concern with heather greys like this fabric is that they often show sweat. Unfortunately, I can’t really say either way how these hold up to sweaty workouts. I’m a very cold-natured person and I don’t sweat much, so I’m not a good person to test sweat resistance.
The cut on these is slim, but the fabric has a lot of stretch. I wear an XXS or XS (2 in lululemon) and these fit me very well. Since the fabric has so much stretch, I believe these would fit someone who’s a true XS as well. I would go with your normal size, but if you’re between, you can go up.
The mystic capris are a long cropped length and end up being a nice 7/8 length on me (I’m 5’3″).
One thing I really like about how these crops are cut: no baggy ankles!! Excess fabric at the hem is a perennial problem with long crops, and I hate how it looks. These have a tight leg opening and fit around my leg perfectly. Even if you’re shorter than me and the hem hits at a lower (i.e., skinnier) part of your ankles, you might still be in luck. So, if you’re also a member of the skinny ankle club, these are a winner.
The rise is on the lower side, but also has enough coverage in the back for me to feel comfortable. The waistband has a thin black contrast at the top. There are no pockets on these, including at the waistband.
As you can see from the lack of tags, I decided to keep these. The fabric is the biggest selling point for me, and getting them on sale meant these were an awesome deal. Although the event during which I got these is over, the normal retail price of $85 is totally reasonable if you ask me. If you love luscious, creamy fabrics, you’ll love the mystic capris.
Where to find mystic capris
Since these are a core style for Koral, they’re available at a ton of retailers, and sometimes you can find them on sale at one of them, too:

I wish I was a cold-natured person who could pull those off. I sweat just looking at the gym but I like the way they look and may give Koral a try.

Hehe, fair enough. :) I think Koral has some great quality stuff, so it’s worth a shot if you find something a little more sweat-friendly!

i tried these about a year ago. they were indeed sooooo soft and wonderful feeling but the waist was so tight on me. they gave me the WORST muffin top (and fit perfectly fine everywhere else – i couldn’t have sized up). it was probably due to the low rise.
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
Yup, I bet the low rise was the culprit! Too bad, they’re so soft!

I’m curious about the fabric. Is it similar to Lululemon’s rulu or or nulu?
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
So, I only tried nulu once, and it was several months ago, so honestly I don’t remember much about how it felt. Out of luxtreme, luon, and rulu, the Koral capris are most similar to rulu. That said, it’s not a thick, thermal fabric, it just has a similar, soft-but-not-quite-cottony sort of feel. I hope that makes sense! I need to try nulu again next time I’m at a store!

those look nice! they remind me of my Lulu True Self crops in grey I just bought….the grey fabric was soooooo soft and thick that it became the main selling point for me. (other true crops colors were as soft or not soft at all.)
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
Yes, a lot lulu’s heathered fabrics are really soft! And you got the nice calf detail with those, which is a nice plus. All around good choice for sure. :)

It’s hard to find a good heather grey legging…These ones are GREAT on you! I do agree that Koral’s waistbands sit a little lower. Not super low, but lower that I’ve become used to lately, with all the high rise styles out there! And, I also am a fan of the length and the way the calf fits on Koral’s styles…great for those of us on the shorter side/smaller ankles. Thank you so much for sharing my code/post :) xx

Medium rise is the new low rise, hehe. And you’re welcome for the share! So glad you have the code for us! :)

THAT is so absolutely true(!); about finding good leggings in heather grey. I’ve always loved to do the “preppy look” in Fall with them (white mock turtleneck layered under an alma mater sweatshirt — reminds me of my high school and college days 20 years’ ago, lol!). However, most of the lighter grey shades are (almost always) either TOO THIN (where your skin tone actually winds-up changing their color on you…and even more pronounced after laundering) OR: it’s a color which can cause embarrassingly awkward fitting issues around the front inseam-area (trying to not be too personal about it, but you know what I mean — uggghh!). I, generally, shy-away from low rise ANYTHING (being 5′ 7″ and a sz10…whom, certainly: does NOT go to a gym five-days-a-week!); though, I like the option Koral offers with these: they’re close to a fave style of mine and don’t come off looking like one is wearing cheap thermals as normal clothes.

I’m really loving Koral recently… I’ve purchased 2 pairs of their pants in the last couple weeks. I feel like for us petite ladies, the fit is SO nice in the xs. I have no excess fabric at the ankles and the detailing/venting etc seems to hit at all the right places. The only deterrent is the higher price tags, although I feel as if the quality of the fabrics is definitely nice and sturdy. I don’t feel like the waists on the ones I’ve purchased are too low (the emblem crop legging and the pixelate cropped legging).

Yes, I agree Koral’s fabrics are pretty great. The fit has been a tad hit-or-miss for me, though. I ordered the paragon leggings and they fit really odd through the hips, like the crotch was a tad saggy on me. The two pairs I’ve kept though (mystics and gauge capris from a couple seasons ago) are awesome though, love them.
