I was out of town all of last week so I had to wait an extra-long time to get my orders, and it also makes me a little late to the lumberjack party. But I got to come home to a little mini-Christmas: these plus a new duvet cover. Wee!
Lululemon scuba hoodie in mini camp check cranberry
First up, I caved and bought the new mini camp check cranberry scuba hoodie, aka lumberjack 2.0. It was almost sold out, so it was one of those “buy now, decide later” situations. I had been a bit sad about missing out on the bumble berry camp check/lumberjack scuba last year, but I was really on the fence about the fact that it wasn’t a true red. So, I was doubly tempted when this true red check popped up as a surprise on last week’s upload.
As expected, the cranberry check fits the same as my other scuba hoodie ii. I find the fit of scuba ii’s to be really flattering.
The cuffs and trim aren’t quite a true black. They appear to be slightly red-toned, although they’re called black.
The inside is fleecy cranberry.
I had two reservations with this scuba. First, scuba sleeves are way long on me, and it can be hard to keep them out of my way. This pic shows as far back as I can pull the sleeves. My other scubas usually end up sliding down and get in the way while I’m cooking, doing dishes, washing my hands, etc.
My second issue is matching. I love red, and as I said above, I was glad that this is a true red, but it is one of the hardest colors to match. Pink, purple, and most teals generally look awful. Bright green makes you look like Christmas. Light/bright blues are hit or miss. Other warm colors like orange and yellow are just too much. So basically, that leaves you with neutrals and darker shades of blue and green. Not much to choose from!
There’s no doubt this scuba is super, super cute. I like how it looks on, and it for sure has a certain fireside-cozy appeal. I just need to decide whether I’ll want to wear it enough to justify keeping a $108+ purchase.
Glyder yogini tank in rescue white
I also bought Glyder’s new white yogini tank, as I mentioned in last week’s post. Half of the proceeds of sales on this tank go to Sgt Pepper’s Friends, a rescue organization founded by yogini Rachel Brathen. This tank is a double win because it’s not only cute, but it’s also a message/cause I support.
How cute is this tank?? The fabric is made of Virtusof, a blend of rayon, polyester, and spandex that’s very soft. It’s lightweight and great for warmer weather. The fit is loose, which is fine by me since I think it looks nice that way, and because you don’t really want a white top to be tight anyway. The white will look great with just about everything, and this will be a great tank to wear casually with my speed shorts. This one’s keepers!
Kristi says
Just a note for speed lovers, the new white speeds are actually 2-way, despite being listed as 4-way. They are really cute and the liner is nude-colored which really helps it to not show through.
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
I heard about that! It’d be nice if this means they’re going to start making some 2-way styles again, but I’m not holding my breath. I missed out on white in my size online, but have been debating whether I ought to hunt them down and get them shipped from a store.

I picked up the lumberjack scuba and tomorrow the return window will close. I don’t love it to the max but I think I’d regret returning it when fall hits. It seems like one of those pieces I just want to have in my collection for years to come and will mostly be wearing black pants in the cooler seasons anyway. still on the fence though. I still really wish scuba hoods had a string to tighten them.

I ended up keeping mine. I hope I don’t regret it! Like you, I’m thinking/hoping I’ll mostly just end up wearing it with jeans or neutrals in the colder weather.

I also got my rescue tank this week! It’s SO soft and I’m in love with it. I already wore it out for my long run this weekend and it was perfect. I’m so glad that you mentioned it so I could scoop one up!
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
Yay! I’m glad it was a win for you. :)

Love the tank and the scuba looks great on you! I also have reservations about the scuba. I own one other scuba I got from last year’s online warehouse sale at a great price, so paying full price is really tough to swallow. Also, I noticed on mine and on a few other scubas I inspected in the store, that the seams (particularly on the underside of the arms where the thicker patterned fabric meets the solid ribbed fabric) aren’t great. It looks like the thread fuzzes up into little balls or tiny loops, it’s hard to tell which. Is this common for scubas? Has anyone else noticed this? I’m concerned that with wear the seams would start to fuzz even more or snag. My return window closes tomorrow, too. Decisions, decisions.
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
If I remember correctly, my fatigue scuba (bought about 1.5 years ago) has a little bit of fuzziness on those seams you’re referring to. Nothing major though, hardly noticeable and not actual damage.

Okay I just purchased the glyder rescue tank and pink space dye mantra crops! Can’t wait for them to come in. I just got accepted for the guru appreciation on their website so that was really nice. Thanks for showing off these brands… It really helps me purchase and explore!
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
Yay!! It’s so awesome that they have the guru program. Glad I could help point you in that direction. :)

I just received them Saturday and wore them for my workout this morning. Love them!!! Soft and extremely breathable! Couldn’t be happier about this purchase. Thanks again for pointing me to glyder! (For reference for peeps: I got an xs in the tank and crops… Typically a 2/4 in lulu. Glyder has a tiny bit looser fit. But very comfy! Love! – rias

Hooray!!! Glad to hear your new swag worked out. :)
Monica says
Oohh that Glyder tank is super cute! I’ve never bought from them before, and I’m lulu 4 in tops. Which size do you recommend?
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
Probably an XS. I’m a lulu 2 in tops, so an XS might be a tad less loose on you than on me, but probably not by much. If it helps, my XS measures 16″ from pit-to-pit.
Monica says
And is it see through?
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
Sort of. Because it’s white and not ultra-thick, you can see your bra color underneath pretty easily, but since it’s loose, it’s not revealing, i.e. you can’t see your belly or anything.
Katy says
Keep the scuba! Looks great on you! I disagree that the pairing options are limited…I think it will look great with leggings in any shade of black, grey and white (although these are my favorite colors to wear for leggings to begin with so maybe I’m biased) as well as any color denim. I love that it doesn’t overly scream “activewear.” I’m sure you’ll get good use out of it in the coming cooler months!
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
Fair enough! I definitely agree that jeans and most skinnies will work well, but I usually like to wear my scubas with activewear, so it definitely is pretty limiting in that sense. That said, I just detagged it to wear today…
Mel says
Yay I’m glad you kept it! I ended up returning mine since my size wasn’t available for an exchange in the store. I’m sure I’ll regret it. :)
audrey says
There are still good size runs in both Boston stores- if you really want it, call the newbury st or prudential store!! :)
Sara says
What size did you purchase the scuba hoodie in? I haven’t tried it on before, but I feel like Lulu is going to come out with some pretty great colors this fall for scubas, but I’m just wondering if they’re true-to-size before ordering!
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
Sorry for the delay–I bought a size 2, which is the size I wear in all other lulu tops. It’s fitted, so lots of people take a size up, but I am most comfortable in my normal size.
