Sneak peeks from this week’s lululemon product drops overseas. There’s quite a few this week since it’s the first drop of the season!
The scuba hoodie got a makeover. It’s called the scuba hoodie iii *terry, and it looks like the scuba and the on the daily hoodie had a baby. The first color is listed as hyper stripe deepest cranberry, which it’s clearly not, but maybe that’s a color that’s coming. The second one is butter pink. I’d be curious to try this on, but my initial reaction is not great. The sleeves are very loose (which usually looks bad on me), and it looks like it got the same fit as the OTD, which I really don’t like. Also, the logo looks a bit off to me here, too. I’m not sure if the scuba hoodie is being phased out in favor of this new design altogether or if it will still appear in older colors. Many scubas have been selling pretty slowly, especially compared to the OTD, so I can’t really blame lulu if they did nix the scuba as we previously knew it.
New speed shorts: so fly butterfly, cranberry, and mini pop stripe black/mink berry. I think I’m safe from all 3 of these–whew. I kind of like mini pop stripe, but not sure how I feel about mink berry, and I don’t love the pizazz accents. Note the butterflies have pizazz in the print, too.
The pleat to street skirt has been updated again. This is now the pleat to street skirt iii. The pleats are muuuch narrower than the previous verison. New colors are so fly butterfly angel wing and pipe dream blue.
So fly butterfly fatigue green cool racerback.
Free to be wild bra in so fly butterfly angel wing.
Pretty new tie dye swiftly short sleeve in cranberry.
Speed tights got yet another tweak to become the speed tight iv (shown in cranberry). It looks like the waistband is slightly different, and the logo is now on the waistband instead of the calf.
New tie dye seamless bottoms. These are cadet blue/sapphire blue and wine berry/bordeaux drama in the flow crops and ebb to street pants. This pattern looks really nice.
Super squad shorts in ziggy snake red tide. This color looks nice in these shorts, though the fit of these is still wildly unappealing to me. Look at that duck tail in the back. No me gusta.
Adding to the long list of tweaks and reduxes, these are the new stillness pants. The old still pants were phased out quite some time ago, and now a new version is finally back. These capitalize on the high waist trend with a rolldown option that goes all the way up to just under your bra line if you like. This makes them look like maternity pants, which is a purpose they’d probably be well-suited to. They have a similar fit to the old stills–relaxed and pretty straight all the way down the leg–but with the addition of a cinchable drawcord at the hem.
New circadian tank, made of pima cotton.
New go the distance jacket and vest. These are designed to be weather-resistant. Both have stowable hoods, and the vest packs into one pocket, like some of lulu’s other recent designs. Between this and the recent backpack it jacket/vest, it looks like they’re breaking out of the miss misty rut.
New vent it out crops with criss-cross venting detail. They are luxtreme and have a zipperless back pocket.
New all the right places pants. These have quite a few details, like strategic seaming, a side pocket, a zipperless back pocket, full-on luxtreme panels intended for compression/support, and no front middle seam for camel toe prevention.
New keep on track pants in butterfly texture. These are light luxtreme with a slightly tailored fit, side detail, and zip front pockets.
New follow your bliss bag, shown here in bordeaux drama/apex stripe/mink berry. As the name suggests, it’s designed to be a yoga tote. You can clip the strip of fabric (the one right under the handles) for a slimmer profile.
From Australia, a new down-filled vest: the fluffiest vest. The color is new also: soft earth. Since we’re getting into our chilly season, I’m guessing this is one seasonal piece that might come to North America. Last year lulu released the chilly chill vest in August as the first puffy cold weather item, so this might be this year’s design. Like the chilly chill vest, this one reverses (this color flips to so fly butterfly).
The new sunshine coast long sleeve reminds me a bit of last year’s cabin yogi long sleeve. This one looks like a slightly lighter, softer knit. It’s made of boolux, same as the cabin yogi collection. I like the design a lot, and might be tempted if some good colors come out since I could use some simple, casual long sleeve tees. So far there’s just medium grey, fatigue, and black.
New beyond boundaries pants, ziggy snake fatigue green here. It’s full-on luon with a high rise and laser cut side paneling.
New run wild 1/2 zip in classic stripe, made of light luxtreme. The back is solid black if you don’t want to look like the hamburglar, or it also comes in floral sport tranquil blue and solid black.
Lastly, pic of the week award goes to:

So much nope to that new “scuba”. That’s a horrible re-design.
The tie dye bottoms at first glance look nice but then I think they got bleach thrown on it.
The only thing I like is the sweater.
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
Yeah, some people have been loving it but frankly I think it’s awful. Oh well, I haven’t been wearing my two scubas much so it’s not a huge loss. The sunshine coast is the only thing I like, too.
cadet_blue says
I’m liking the new scuba design, but the fabric looks pretty thin? All of my scubas are super thick so I find myself having to size up to a 8 because my arms won’t fit! I still like the old scuba design though. Sad that they seem to be phasing out quite a few classic designs… :(
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
Yeah, the terry fabric I assume will be thinner like the OTD. Since this is marked “*terry” Maybe there will also be a scuba iii made of cotton fleece, the usual thicker scuba material?
Katy | Lulu & the Box says
If they could just halt everything and release a pipe dream speed short (no stupid details just SOLID shorts), that would be greeeaaatttt.
Jessie says
I second that!
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
Hahah fair enough!! :)

I like the butterfly and cranberry speeds although I do have bumble berry speeds and wondering if the colours are similar.
Samantha says
I’m wondering the same thing. I have a few items in solid bumble berry from last year, and think I could avoid cranberry completely this month. It’s such a pretty color though, but that’s probably why I jumped on bumble berry last year, i loved that color so much.
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
I’m guessing bumble will be noticeably more purple-y while cranberry will be considerably more red. Overall, I prefer bumble over cranberry, especially for matching purposes, though they do have a similar appeal.
Samantha Simons says
The new seamless tie dye bottoms look like a direct knock off of NUX crops which I wanted to love but the sizing is hard to gauge and I finally gave up on finding a pair that fits right.
Mindy Gardner says
I was thinking the same thing!
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
Wow good point!
Jessie says
Bahaha pic award indeed! Im annoyed there is no frontal view of the new Inspire Mesh Ziggy Snake Pipe Dream…I should be grateful though, they gave me a classic “both feet straight up in the air from mid-calf to toe” pose, who am I to complain.
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
Hahaha love your commentary!!

In a weird way, the last pic of the bridge speaks to me. I have a couple classes (CXWORX and EXTREME STEP) that I go to where we do bridges. I think about the activities I’m going to do and if the coverage will be appropriate. Tomorrow, I am going to a new yoga class and it’s super hot outside and I have kid drop off etc before class….so, I was hoping to wear shorts for comfort but am worried about showing too much while doing my poses, YNWIM. Maybe Lulu is on to something if they can choose the right action poses.
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
Point taken! I don’t mind the action shots, but the cropping on the bridge pose makes it look weirdly disembodied. In fact, a lot of the poses in general on the new photos are fine with me, it’s just the cropping/centering (or lack thereof) that I find bizarre or less than useful.
angeline says
lol! at the pix of the week. i have no idea what they were trying to achieve with that one. just looked like a badly cropped shot.
for all u know they could have been advertising shoes in that pix lol!
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
Haha maybe they signed a deal with Asics…lol.
Sophie says
That pic is hilarious. This week in particular I was dumbfounded by the shot selection and the lack of truly useful, basic photos. I’m actually liking a number of things here – the cranberry speed tights, the sunshine coast LS, vent it out crops, tie dye seamless bottoms…but that Scuba revamp is a big disappointment IMO. I’m all for a new hoodie on the scene, but I think the scuba is perfect as-is.
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
Yeah, I’m good with some creativity, but pleeease just give us a shot where we can actually see the full look of the pants! I don’t love the new scuba look either. I always found the original scuba really flattering, so I preferred that one for sure.
Carrie | Gymwear Guru says
I actually don’t mind the new scuba redesign. I like the more subtle logo and the relaxed fit. The tie dye crops are pretty, but hard tail always has great tie dye.
Not a fan of the new pleat to street. I’m glad I bought one in white before the change.
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
The relaxed fit (of the OTD anyway) just looks so dumpy on me. If I want a baggy, ill-fitting hoodie, I can go to H&M. Sucks not to be able to size down for at least a slightly tailored relaxed fit. At any rate, I haven’t really been wearing the scuba hoodies I do own (mostly because the x-long sleeves get in my way and don’t really stay pushed back), so I’m not upset about it. More money saved.
KT says
I’m not into tie die or snake print at all. But I think the butterfly print is really cute, especially the more monochrome version.
I am also curious to try/feel the WUC III next time I am in a store. I figure at some point, they will stumble across the old formula for luon that everyone loved.
Nothing is “must have” yet, but I’m happy waiting to buy anything for fall.
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
I agree, I’m not super-stoked to start buying for cold weather yet, so holding off on the must have stuff is fine by me. Not to mention, my wallet wants a break anyway.
