Next Week: Var-City Capsule + Regal Plum In Flux Jacket + Heat Wave Tech Mesh

April 2, 2015 / 13 Comments

This week’s what we love sneak peek is up!

The new iridiscent multi print is coming out to play in April in the studio racerback.

The new var-city capsule is a line of run gear with more of an urban, transitional edge to it.  The silhouette of this bomber and muscle tank look similar to some recent releases to me.  The tank looks like it has a criss-cross pattern on the sides.

More of the var-city line: perforation and criss-crossing seem to be the unifying motifs for this line.  Although I’m pretty lukewarm about these designs myself, I can appreciate that they’re something a little different from usual, but still appear quite functional.  Katelin also notes there’s bits of reflectivity snuck into these designs as well.

The in flux jacket will be coming in the new April color, regal plum.  The more I see of regal plum, it does look a bit darker and richer than ultra violet, although the 2 colors do seem to be pretty similar.  As I suspected might happen, lulu is indeed riffing on the success of tech mesh.  The latest is the new heat wave print.  Don’t forget, there’s also star crushed coal black tech mesh in the UK right now, too.

The regal plum swiftly short sleeve from Australia is coming to the US.  Presumably this means we’ll get the swiftly racerback, too, though maybe not this week.  Also, more electric coral!  This color seems to be so bright that basically all the pics I’ve seen so far (this stock pic included) look kind of blown out.  I know many people were wishing for these wunder under crops.  As I thought might happen, the crops are rolldowns since the pants are regular rise.  Some have already said the pants are sheer though, so while you may get lucky, I wouldn’t get your hopes up too high.

It’s like when Zing Pink came out….we were all so excited for the WUs…but they were completely sheer. Even the speeds had that weird black liner. I saw a girl in the mall wearing them, and it totally looked like she was wearing black underwear.

This is why I didn’t order them….knew they would be sheer…sigh…oh for the day when we don’t have to worry about sheer $100 yoga pants….what first world problems we have…

I did get a fwtb bra in electric coral and it is really pretty. Also got an ebb to studio bra in a new neon green/yellow (not clear mint).

Yes, I thought of zing pink too! It’s a shame, because colors like this would be so popular if they were actually functional. Do you have the code handy on the new bra? Curious.

Ha…I’m an idiot. It was HLSP. Heathered Split Pea…and it was the Ebb and Flow bra (new design). I don’t know why they brought that in Split Pea and Alberta Lake. Seems like fall colors.

Probably the heathered part threw me off….I avoided Split Pea like the plague because I didn’t like the color at all…..but I must say….I loved the color on!

Haha, I’m not surprised that the color showed up different on that fabric. I think a lot of stuff has been coming out on incorrect timing because of supply chain/shipping port issues. There’ve been a number of random items or restocks that were from several months prior.

As a busty gal, I think it’s nice to see a tank with a higher neckline and a relatively classic design. I like the bomber more than previous bombers, too.

Yes, I think it’s a nice classic design that isn’t totally plain. Turns out the bomber has a gaudy baseball-esque stitching pattern on the back. O_O https://www.facebook.com/lululemonlacantera/photos/pcb.709072492571547/709071132571683/?type=1&permPage=1 I can’t.

Yes, the electric coral WUPs are laughably sheer. My order will be going back as soon as it hits my doorstep. I picked up the FTBW but when I got home I noticed that their security tag left a snag so now that has to go back, too. If it were darker I probably wouldn’t have even noticed it, but cannot unsee…

It’s a shame about electric coral. It’s such a fun color. I know what you mean about cannot unsee, can’t blame you!

AA-how did you know these would be sheer? I have seen sheerness in a number of colors so am not able to tell till I see the pants in person. Is it just because these look like the recalled atomic flower high times? I know you have those splits59 pink capris that are opaque so just wondered how you can tell before you see them?

Just an educated guess, there was no way I could tell. Most brights/lighter colors in luon are pretty sheer, with the exception of some textures. Just seems to be how it goes unfortunately, which is a shame since brights like this would be so cute if they were functional. Alas!

Am I the only one who saw the Tech Mesh High Times and thought of Halloween? The print and the style looks like the bottom half of a mummy costume! I love the detailing on the Var City Crops though, those have a ballerina feel to them that I’m loving.

I didn’t think of it at first but I definitely see where you’re coming from. I do think the black mesh is a bit jarring next to the pattern, which does make it look a bit wrapped somehow.
