Australia’s upload was basically solid moody mirage this morning. The if you’re lucky line includes lots of the print, plus there were a number of core items, which we’ve basically seen in various places up to this point (including that moody mirage bark berry FTBW–maybe that means it’s supposed to go with the if you’re lucky upload?).
The if you’re lucky line uses quite a wide variety of fabrics: the SS and LS are made of swim (and mesh), the tank and bra are luxtreme, and the bottoms are luon.
This styled photo of the if you’re lucky long sleeve makes the back look really nice.
We haven’t seen this color of the if you’re lucky short sleeve yet–this is hawk blue.
In addition to the 3 colors that came out on Friday (vintage pink, black, moody mirage white), the if you’re lucky bra comes in hawk blue with bark berry straps. The bra is listed as medium coverage/support, which might be workable for C/D-cup ladies, but I was disappointed to see the size range is only 4-10.
Apparently the adjustable straps can also be crossed in the back. I noticed in all the stock pics (regardless of straps crossing or not), the band curves upward at the middle. I’m not sure if this is just how it’s made, but it makes it look like an improper fit (band too large).
The if you’re lucky pants and crops both have double-layered luon in the butt in hopes of bypassing sheerness issues. I’ll be curious to hear if these actually do pass the bend test in try-ons. The pants have a rolldown waistband while the crops have a regular rise.
The new seva jacket looks like something went horribly, horribly wrong. And those pants? What is happening right now? Oof.
New surf to sand rashie. Note also you can see what I believe are the new surf shorts. The shorts still haven’t been uploaded in Aus.

I think the entire Lucky line is beyond ugly. I haven’t seen one person that looks good in the bra; not from the front, not from the back. I know that open back tops are popular, but these seem to have way too much fabric in them. I’d be paranoid about snagging all that loose mesh on weight machines. I’ve seen better executed tops of this type from S59 and Lorna Jane.
I thought I’d blown the budget big time when I bought two jackets at the beginning of the month. Thankfully there’s been almost nothing else I liked.

Yeah, I’ve been a bit disappointed in the bra pics that have come out today. My initial enthusiasm for it has all but completely gone away. There are cuter bras out there. As for the tops, I agree I would be paranoid about snagging the mesh on pretty much anything. It’s hard to be careful when the snaggy bits are behind you.

If we’re lucky this stuff will go away quickly. This is hands down one of the ugliest, least flattering capsules we’ve ever seen. Someone posted that the designers ought to look back through their portfolio around 2008- I 100% second that. Go back and pull designs from 2008-2010ish and remake them. Try to get the fabric right, don’t cut corners, don’t change a thing. They’d have a great season if they were smart enough to do something as simple as that.

I completely agree! I’m new to the whole upscale workout wear thing, I’ve always been pretty true to Nike and Adidas (I played soccer in college and run marathons now) but love the old Lulu designs that I come across on Pinterest…laser cut shorts and tops and unexpected ruffles and pleats that make workout clothes seem feminine and flirty but still super functional. Really wish they would bring back some of their old school designs.

There are a lot of things I miss about the old designs, too. I liked a lot of the subtle ruffles and things that were feminine without being too juvenile. There’s certainly a lot of ugly or dated-looking designs from that time, too, but sometimes I definitely feel like they could learn a thing or two from themselves…

Haha! I don’t think my feeling about the lucky line are quite as strong as yours, but at this point nothing is anywhere near a “need” for me. Plus, I’ve seen SOOO many pics today I’m already feeling a little saturated. The trouble with remaking some of the old styles is that their manufacturing process has changed SO much, I’m not sure there’s really any hope of it ever going back to the way it was as far as remaking older styles, short of them massively shrinking the company, which would never fly with stockholders/board members. Sad.
