Wedding bells in your future? Well, Oiselle has a new fix for fitness nuts tying the knot: bridal activewear.
Yes, I’m serious.
Oiselle, a running-focused brand, knew that there are serious runners out there who do things like get married at marathons (ok, that was news to me), not to mention women who like to do fun runs and such as part of their wedding festivities, and yet nothing existed in the great big world of active clothing that was targeted toward brides. Oiselle took matters into their own hands and crafted a dress for the literal runaway bride.
You can read more about why they made this in their blog post about it.
At $140, Oiselle’s bridal dress won’t put much of a dent in most wedding budgets, all things considered. It’s available in sizes XS-XL.
The details of this dress are so cute and thoughtful. They added in a little ring pocket at the waist, a line of pearls to button up the back, and a flouncy tulle-overlaid skirt. There’s also a small loop at the back waist, which they say can be used to stash flowers, but there aren’t any pics showing what this might look like. It’s not totally clear whether there’s a built-in bra or if the model is wearing her own bra underneath.
Oiselle also made bridesmaid dresses to complete the look. There are currently 3 colors available, and the styling is quite similar to the bride’s dress, minus some of the details like the ring pocket and pearls down the back. The price is scaled back accordingly at $110.
And of course, it wouldn’t be a bridal collection without a performance “tux” shirt for your man.

kinda cool… I might possibly be interested in the yellow dress just for fun, i like to wear crazy/fun stuff when I sweat… I did notice the white bra straps under the yellow dress which makes me think that the dresses do not have a built in bra… would you wear one?

def no bra built in. guess it would depend on how things looked without a bra, but it seems like you’d want to wear one considering this is meant for being active. would guess the top of the dress is not tight enough to provide enough support and maybe it would be sheer anyway.

check out the pics of the bergen color BM dress…shows without a bra

Yeah I was gonna say the same as hc, there’s no bra visible in other colors so probably no bra for the BM dresses. Since there’s only one color of the bridal one it’s harder to say. And I’m guessing when you’re asking if I’d wear one you mean the dress, not a bra, because I would definitely wear a bra hahah. I’ve gone back and forth. If I had the occasion I wouldn’t rule it out, but for a special occasion like that I might rather wear a “unicorn” item instead. Dunno.

It’s good if they don’t have a built-in bra because their bras are a joke for those who need support.

Point taken! :) I’d always rather wear my own bra anyway.
