Pigment wave speed shorts hit US stores a couple of days ago, and they’ve made a huge splash. I haven’t heard many reports of wonky fit just yet, but pattern placement is a big issue. I’m not usually that picky about pattern placement, but this pattern seems to be particularly problematic since the pattern is a bit sparse and variable. The disproportionately large regal plum splotches look a bit odd in places. Here’s a pic bomb to give you an idea of what to expect, as well as what color tops match well:
Stock pics from this morning’s Aussie upload. From comparison pics I’ve seen, the blue in pigment wave does appear to be pigment blue.

I have actually found that there doesn’t seem to be as much of an issue with pattern placement. I’ve liked all the patterns i’ve seen on the boards myself. While I’d like less white if I were to buy I don’t think that pattern placement is as detrimental on these as some other prints they’ve put out.

Yeah, I’ve heard a couple people say they love basically anything. Like I mentioned, I’m usually not picky about placement (I didn’t care about inky floral placement at all even though people got all up in arms about the yellow splotches) but a large number of the ones I’ve seen just don’t do it for me. Not sure why. I guess I’m not completely sold on those speeds just yet.

The eds at my store were going crazy for them and telling people to buy asap. I didn’t care for the fit that much, so I passed. (Size 2 was way too small. Size 4 was baggy/unflattering.)

That’s too bad. Judging by the number of store pics of these, lots of eds are going crazy over them, lol.

I hope this print comes in run times! I guess we can’t all get what we want. :(

Since it already came in tracker shorts, I’m doubtful. :(

Class pass just sent me an email about a free $100 gift card for Carbon 38 if you sign up before 4/30. I was planning to sign up anyway but extra bonus!!! I wouldn’t know what Carbon 38 is if it was not for your blog! Haha thank you! And for people with class pass offered in their city, it’s a pretty awesome thing to jump between studios!
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
Omg that’s such a good deal for people in Class Pass areas! Jealous. My small town seriously has so few options for fitness studios of any type, much less Class Pass. I actually have a review to put up from Carbon38, so I should hustle and finish that this week in case anyone wants to put that GC to good use.

Don’t feel bad. I live in a big city with tons of gyms and the nearest Class Pass studios is a minimum 1 hour drive each way :( You would think we’d be a class pass area but apparently not.

I do in fact feel better, lol!

I was considering getting the trackers in these but don’t feel like ordering 5 pairs then having to return the ones I don’t want. Besides, for all my complaining about there not being anything good to buy, I keep managing to buy things on MD–black Skinny Wills & Silver Fox Miss Misty last week. Even though I complained about the Miss Misty, $69 is actually a great price for a running jacket like that. I have a similar one from Brooks that retails for $80.
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
Yeah, $69 is a great price for a running jacket for sure. I’m kind of in the same boat about the shorts. Don’t think it’s worth ordering multiples (and maybe still not liking them) and I hate swallowing that stupid $5 return fee.

Am I the only one not tempted by pigment wave at all?
audrey pitman says
Nope I even tried them on the other day to see if it would change my mind. Didn’t work
