There are just a couple of new things to note from this week’s Asian and European uploads:
New pedal pace crops. The whole pedal pace capsule is luxtreme and is designed with indoor cycling in mind. It uses white, black, deep navy, and star crushed. The star crushed here seem like they’d almost certainly be sheer.
White pedal pace tank. I really don’t like the high mesh with the zipper don’t the middle–ick.
Pedal pace bra. Another “ick” from me.
And rounding out the bunch, the pedal pace shorts.
The new black cherry striped high times that have been in Canada also were made in black. On the UK site, they’re called “fem stripe”.
The if you’re lucky capsule doesn’t appear to be quite done. Here are new heathered hawk blue crops.

ok, posting here because I already hit the post-limit ceiling on the previous article….
:)
I mentioned this on a post by one of the other lulu bloggers…. but it’s weird, disappointing, whatever, that lulu doesn’t ever use fit or athletic models. these women are thin or skinny but certainly don’t appear fit or athletic. usually their non-studio photos feature a fit woman, but never the studio photos.
just making a random observation that seems weird on their part… it is fitness apparel after all and I’d think that at least *some* of their imagery would feature women who played hard, who had lats and ass and some muscle somewhere, ya know? not saying they should be shredded… just that maybe they squat on the reg and can do pullups and such and who use more than the 2.5 lbs weights.
not trying to offend or anything. and I’m not saying thin/skinny and fit/athletic are mutually exclusive. Suzanne, this blog’s author, for instance, is thin, petite but definitely looks athletic.
so I guess what I’m saying is, Suzanne, why aren’t you a lulu model?
;)
on the other hand… athleta uses super fit models… I see something really cute on the fit model then I wear it and think ‘this is made for someone who is fit’
so I guess to sum it all up…. lulu marketing is on to something.

I agree. I noticed this too a while back… but the lulu dudes are super fit.

oh yummy yes.
right now the only guy I’d be buying for is dad/brothers but I scroll through just to check out the guys. forget the clothes.

Yes, I do feel like there’s been a trend toward a more mannequin-y look with some of the recent modeling. I hesitate to jump to conclusions on any of the model’s athletic capability by their pics, since maybe they’re into cycling or running or pure barre or something where people generally stay quite thin instead of muscled. But, as you said, it would make sense for an *athletic* company to feature a little bit more diversity in shape/musculature, etc, even if they do feature mostly thin models. This is especially true if, as pointed out in the comments of the 3-year evolution post, they’re trying to attract more serious athletes. Carbon38 is a pretty good example of featuring a range of fit women. I do have to give lulu a little credit for being somewhat better than typical fashion sites (e.g. ShopBop’s active section), and it’s nice that the styled shoots use relatively diverse body types, but I agree that it seems like they’re heading in the “wrong” direction as far as stock pics go.

So I don’t want to sound like a broken record, and it goes to the blog you wrote about LLL’s 3 year evolution…. but I am so tired of the dark and serious theme. It is spring for goodness sake! The current colors and themes are making me depressed.

I think star crushed would’ve been a much better fall pattern, esp with black cherry.

maybe a fluke but all sizes are showing in the purple/bumble berry ftbw
(one or two sizes in white and mirage)
Suzanne | Agent Athletica says
Didn’t seem to be a fluke. Must’ve been delayed stock or something.

yeah maybe they were stuck in port. one shipped for me so no fluke, yay.
