Glyder, a California-based brand, has been in the business of feminine, functional workout wear for several years now. They are perhaps most well-known for reigning supreme in the area of affordable, quality space dye crops and leggings. I’ve heard so many good things about Glyder’s space dye crops, so I’m happy to get to share with you my thoughts on those, plus some of Glyder’s other offerings that are part of their spring 2015 line.
Disclosure: these items were complimentary from Glyder for me to test out and share. The thoughts and opinions in this post are all my own.
I’ve heard a lot of good things about Glyder’s space dye crops, but this was my first experience with them. I can definitely see what all the hype is about, because these crops are solid. First and foremost, I rate the opacity at a 10/10, so that’s already good news. Beyond that, the fabric is very soft and comfortable with a cottony feel and a lot of stretch. It’s a nylon/spandex blend of Glyder’s own called Forma101. The inside is tagless; all the information is stamped on the inside waistband, so there’s no scratching or rubbing to worry about. The crops also have a diamond/oval gusset and a decently large waistband pocket.
Midnight space dye, a new color for this season, is a very dark mix of shades, as the name implies. If you look at it on its own, you would probably call it black and grey, but if you hold it up to something that’s actually black, it looks just slightly blueish. This will go with basically everything, and I love that it’s neutral but also something a little different.
One thing to note about the ninja crops in particular is that they do have a seam running across the top of the highest cutout that you can see here. For me, this means I have to pull the leg up just slightly as I’m putting them on to make sure the seam falls above my knee (I don’t like any seam running across my kneecap), which makes them appear a bit shorter. In their stock pics, the models wear the seam below the knee, so I imagine depending on how long your legs are and what size you get (i.e., different inseam length), this may vary for you.
My pair in XXS fit me well, although they are just a bit bigger than my lululemon wunder unders in a size 2 (my usual size) when I lay them next to each other. Glyder suggests sizing down in their bottoms, so I tend to agree. This size should definitely work for you if you are a small 4 in lulu, and probably if you are a true 4 as well. I wore these to a couple workouts before writing this and I was happy with how they stayed in place, squats and all. These are great do-everything workhorses that will work for just about any workout you want to throw at them.
The action sports bra is a light-medium support bra that’s both functional and feminine. I’m pleased with how well it locks things down. Although it’s not a high-impact bra, it works for me for the moderate amount of running and jumping I do in my workouts. The coverage is high enough that it does not cut in, which I really appreciate since that’s a common problem for me.
I got this bra in an XS, and in my opinion, it does fit a bit smaller than most other XS bras I have tried on. Laying this next to my size 2 lululemon energy bras, they appear similar. So, you may want to consider sizing up on this, especially if you are on the bustier side.
The bra fabric is Forma101, i.e., a cottony fabric instead of a slick one. The fabric is quite substantial, which helps with support, but the only downside to that is that it may not be as cool for super-sweaty workouts versus some of my other bra options. The lace accents, on top of being pretty also add a bit of airflow. The back is nice and open and allows for good freedom of movement through the shoulders. It does have thinner straps, so if these styles tend to cut into your shoulders, this particular style might not work for you.
The bra has slots for cups, although they’re not included. One note about this: because of the lace, the cups I used didn’t have room to slide all the way in and stuck out a little bit. On me, this wasn’t noticeable unless you look very closely (and it doesn’t really matter if you’re wearing a top over it anyway), but you could easily snip off the point of your bra cups if you prefer.
Lastly, I just love this yogini tank. The hamsa design and accompanying “exhale love” text is pretty and fun. I absolutely LOVE the contrast of the gold foil on black, though this will require extra care in the wash to preserve. My tank is an XS, and it’s a relaxed fit. I would go with your usual top size. This tank is limited edition, so beware of sell-outs and don’t expect restocks once your size goes away!
The fabric on this one is Glyder’s poly/rayon/spandex blend, Virtusof, that feels a lot like a cotton tee. It’s insanely soft and has plenty of stretch. The fabric is designed to be a performance blend, so I’ll be interested to see how it manages sweat once things heat up outside. Besides workouts, this will be fantastic as a casual summer tank, and in fact, I would consider this a worthwhile purchase even if it was just for casual use.
P.S. The bird logo on all 3 of these pieces is actually a sparkly silver. I love special details like this, and it really reflects Glyder’s feminine, playful brand.
Overall, I’m really pleased with all 3 of these Glyder pieces. The fit, fabric, and quality are all on point, and they’re quite versatile, too. Considering the quality, their prices are very reasonable and refreshing.

Is there an expiration for the coupon code? Tried it last night and it didn’t work. Also, is shipping kind of ridiculously expensive?

I don’t know of an expiration. I just checked and you’re right, the code didn’t go through for me either. I will email the company and ask.

Btw, looks like the code is working now!
